My car is in neutral with the e brake up, however the button to the gear stick is broken. How do I put my car in reverse without it? My car is a acura cl. Please help!

Most likely the problem with the gear shift not moving is because the little screw in the side of the grip handle is either out or in too tight. If you can lift the handle off the shifter rod you lost the little screw, it is needed to engage the drive shaft.

My acura is making loud banging noise from front when idling. sounds like a missing spark plug but all spark plugs are fine. what could it be?

Can be a lot of things. Could be a bad rod or rod barring. Could be a clearance issue in a rebuilt engine. I wouldn't run it until you Take it to a shop for diagnostic.

Car runs hot while driving but not idling

Have you resolved your overheating problem yet? Your care is about 17 years old and has probably not been maintained well enough. Your problem is most likely rust and the plugging of debris from the rust. Your radiator may be partially plugged with debris and the thermostat could also be blocked. Are your fans running when the car overheats? If so, check the fuses and make sure the fans are getting 12V. There is a connection near the thermostat housing that may be corroded and therefore not making a connection. Also, if your car is not getting 30-35 mpg, your computer (ECU) may think your engine is COLD. This is because steel coolant lines are plugged with rust and the sensor on the throttle body can't heat up and tell the ECU that the engine is not cold. This sensor is probably not faulty but is not being heated by the coolant. The throttle body should be removed, the sensor part that handles the coolant should be removed and cleaned and the steel line that is welded to the air intake line for the PCV system should be bypassed with a longer rubber hose. Start with the connection under the throttle body and go to the heat sensor. The line leading away from the heat sensor may also be plugged. Your starting point is a line near the thermostat housing is sure to be plugged and you would need to remove the upper intake manifold to be able to clean the connection. I hope this helps you to keep the Acura on the road for another 160K miles !! It's not yet broken in good.

2001 Acura CL 3.2. Hesitation on

You said you changed the plug wires did you change the plugs too? My daughter has a 97 CL and when her plugs get fouled it causes hesitation as well as problems starting up. If you haven't changed those do that first. Is that code correct at 40 or is it 401 ? You can take it to autozone and they can tell you what it means or the correct codes. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/john_32f4b76dad4781c4

2001Acura cl 3.2 driver window stop working

Could be a few things. There is a fuse that works power windows, look for that. The switch may have gone bad. Direct current to the window, bypassing the switch should be a good test. It could be the window motor, which has a name that escapes me. Easy to replace with just a few tools.

Cigarette liter doeesnt work..

I had the same problem. I had to remove the radio and get behind the cigarette lighter console area. The tab on the connector is thin sort of like a link which burned open because it could not handle the amount of amperage draw by the lighter. All I did was use a solder iron and melted some solder on it. Its been working now for three years.
