Where is a 2003 bmw x5 e53 3.0L starter relay location, under the hood on top of the fuse box in glove box??
get the service manual.
the users guide does not cover relays.
or 2 persons find it.
one key start (cranking)
other one finds the relay that clicks cranked
bingo found, and can click even bad. (contractor burned inside) or starter is bad. ever hot wire a starter , keys in pocket?
or of all are dead , chances are the relay is good and
problem is up stream.(from relay)
PRNDL switch bad, in Park and Neutral both?
key switch failing (bet not)
IMMO lamp glowing wrong and engine is DISABLED.?
try both IMMO keys yet, it came new with 2 keys

scan the PCM yet, see if it tells you what died?

all ours 1996 up is OBD2, we invented it here. EPA.gov mandated. other countries lagged till 2003 or 07 or beyond.
not posting the country makes answers super hard and most times dead wrong.
your X5 has many Range rover parts. 99 up
best is check all fuses first
then scan it, never miss out on the chance it tells you
for example TRS (tran, range switch) errors (PRNDL)
be a shame to mis out on that.
or not cranking? is it? (is cranking dead? or just slow)
shift to Neutral and crank, to see if that works is really first.

2006 BMW 530i stops message steering activating
Hi I have been told that the first thing to do is to check thr power steering fluid level, if not that then you should check that battery voltage is ok and alternator is working ok, hope this was some help all the best.
2009 BMW 328i climate control fuse keeps blowing out?

cheap harnesses. that rub, fray and short from VIBRATION not more it does the worst it gets.
my buddy captain Dick almost died in C5 Galaxy with short;in the harness mid cargo bay.
he saved the day by pulling the connector there and the fire ended. ( got burn hands doing so but lived)
on your car pull the loads to HVAC controller
may be the blower motor shorted.
test and isolate related parts and the actual shorted device is found, and fuse holds
or is wrong fuse there. oops use correct amps rating only.
2009 is the year of BAD CAPS PLAGUE. so the controller caps may be hard dead shorted out
as they surely love to do. then. (cloned caps H3LL)

never run sans STAT it can cause big turbulent problems at the pump impeller. (an new one is what we do, for sure 10 years old is its engineered life span so is DUE.
