Hi Melissa, How did you manage to fix the problem with the two bolts? I have the same problem with my alfa romeo 159 2.0 jtdm.

You would be safer finding the timing marks at the belt end. The marks will be there but sometimes they are just a pain in the tailbone to find. The engine hits TDC twice in a cycle on each cylinder. You need to be on the correct one to set timing. These are not always marked on a fly wheel.

Often times more than one gauge having a problem is related to the common ground. Once you gain access to the connections behind the dash, just unplug/disconnect and then plug/connect the harness/wiring back into the gauge panel to see if you get a reading. If not, you'll need to trace the wiring using a digital voltmeter as well as verifying the grounding wires. Any connections that aren't clean should be sanded lightly and a light coat of grease applied. Di-electric grease is best as it seals out moisture but won't cause a connection.

Question edited for clarity. It is a bit harsh to call it 'Failure Mode'. It is purely and engine malfunction light (EML). Your vehicle constantly does diagnostics and if after a while, the error is not there, it will reset and remove the error status. This sounds like a linkage or linkage bush has failed. Open the bonnet and find the linkages on the transmission, (gearbox), housing. It should have 2 heavy cables attached to it. Get a helper to work through the gears and watch the linkages and cables move. The linkage should move everytime the gear stick is moved. The cables should also have no slackness to them. If the cables are slack or the linkage doesn't move everytime get a good mechanic to look at it. Changing bushes and cables involves crawling around underneath the car and trying to get up behind the engine so a mechanic has the tools and vehicle lifts to make this a lot quicker and easier.

I got a uno 1100 that if u park it at night the next morning if u syart it and put it in to revers gsar there is nothing but wil go forward, u can put it in neutral but it wil still be in 2ed gear and if u select 5th the gearbox wil lock up so i recon it selecs 2 gears at one time.

Is the yellow light a plain dot with no shapes or signs on it? If it is and it is on the fuel level gauge it is most likely a 'Low Fuel' warning light. Filling the fuel tank past a quarter tank should turn this light off. For the steering check the steering fluid level. A low level makes the steering harder to turn as there is not enough fluid in the system to work properly. Top the fluid up to the correct 'Max' mark and bleed the system. To bleed the system is really easy. Start the engine and turn the steering all the way to the left then all the way to the right. Do this 3 or 4 times. Turn the engine off and re-check the steering fluid level. The oil leak could be something more serious so I will need more information to help you. First check your oil level with the dipstick. It should be between the two marks on the stick. Too much oil in the engine can cause other problems. Where EXACTLY is the oil spilling out? Is it from the filler hole and cap you pour the oil into when your topping it up? Is it the bigger, long cover on top of the engine that the oil filler cap is fitted into? The old trick is to cut the current belt in half along its length, then remove the front most half of the old belt. Slide the new belt up to the remaining half of the old belt, then cut of the old belt and push the new belt fully on to the sprockets.
