1999 Crown Victoria, good battery, no power to

you should look at the fusible links that come off the starter relay.they look like normal wires but they are designed to burn in two if there is too much draw.to check them you only need to pull on the caseing of the wire to see if it is stretchy or not.if it is then replace it,if it's still stiff it's o.k.if you need to replace it then something in your car caused it to blow or it got week over time.hope this helps.

2001 Ford Crown Victoria. Code 16 PATS problem.

Code 16 means the PCM is offline or there is a communication issue between the PCM and PATS controller. Depending on model and year, the PATS controller could be in the instrument cluster, BCM or stand alone PATS module. Nov 1, 2018

1986 Ford Crown Victoria. How to remove the headlight switch on it please?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to model category. You may if you wish, try to pull the left side of the bezel out a few inches and reach behind it. You will have to pull it out because the way the headlight switch is clipped in, you have to press some tabs inward and it will release outward. You can unplug the dimmer switch and the headlight switch after its free. Jan 19, 2010

There is a wire is the starter that needs replace

if it's a big wire about 1/2' thick, it is the battery cable from the battery positive post to the starter, it provides the heavy current to run the starter.
Another small wire is the 12 volts low current that activates the starter relay which in turn connects the battery cable to the starter motor.
what is starter doing or not doing?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starter System The starting system cranks the engine at a speed fast enough to permit the engine to start.
  • Heavy cables, connectors and switches are used in the starting system because of the large current required by the starter motor (11002) while it is cranking the engine.
  • The amount of resistance in the starting circuit must be kept to an absolute minimum to provide maximum current for starter motor operation.
  • A discharged or damaged battery (10653) , loose or corroded connections or partially broken cables will result in slower-than-normal cranking speeds. These concerns may even prevent the starter motor from cranking the engine.
  • In case of starting system difficulty, the operator may have discharged the battery before calling for assistance.
  • A road service procedure is described in this section to aid the service technician in such cases of a discharged battery .
The starting system includes the following:
  • the permanent magnet gear-reduction starter motor with a solenoid-actuated drive
  • the battery
  • a remote control starter switch (part of the ignition switch (11572) )
  • the transmission range (TR) sensor
  • the starter solenoid (11390)
  • heavy circuit wiring
Vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission have a transmission range (TR) sensor in the starter control circuit. This sensor prevents operation of the starter motor unless the transmission range selector lever is in the NEUTRAL or PARK position.

I have a 2006 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor.

Has anyone bothered to scan the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) or the GEM (General Electronic Module) to see if there are any fault codes? Does the engine run OK when this happens? I had a Grand Marquis that was doing something similar and the modules had several U-codes. Finally found the problem in the Transmission Range Sensor - it was shorting out the data line.

Vibration in front end of Crown Victoria

If the CEL is flashing, the cause of this feeling is undoubtedly an engine misfire. On a Crown Victoria, the CEL only begins to flash when a misfire is detected. Too much misfiring can damage the catalytic converter. This is a warning designed to avoid said damage.
