Change light chimes ignition
You may have disturbed the wiring down by the ignition switch. In any case, the brake pedal switch near that switch is now either misaligned or broken - try fixing that first.

I have a 2003 Olds
Is the check engine light on? I'm sure changing the oil had nothing to do with how the vehicle is running now unless they didn't replace the oil drain plug or added enough oil.
2002 Oldsmobile alero passlock problems.
If the antitheft light is on and the car won't start,turn the key to on position and wait for the antitheft light to flash or go out (can take up to 20 mins)then try and start the vehicle.This is the key relearn procedure when the ignition switch does not read/see the key chip correctly.

Could be lose connection on the back of the instrument cluster ,which means you would need to pull it out of the vehicle . Check pin fit to instrument cluster . for the B+ voltage suppy an ground connection's .
You said autozone - Tried to have auto zone diagnose from inside the car, came up with no codes. That's in the PCM - engine computer . There scan tool will not communicate with the instrument cluster ,which is also a computer in it's self. Need a factory scan tool to check instrument cluster.

With the scan tool select Instrument Panel Cluster, Special Functions, Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) gauges.
Perform the Speed Gauge Sweep Test.

With a scan tool select the instrument panel cluster, data display, gear status.
Monitor the gear range status.
Move the gear lever through each gear.
Does the scan tool display the correct gear selected?
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

If you're fortunate, it's simply lit to tell you it's time to have any number of services done. Some check engine lights are synced to come on at certain intervals. If it's not that, then it could be one or more of too many problems to even guess at.

ok... the engine compartment is the entire opening under the hood...the coolant surge tank is located at the front, it is usually white plastic with a plastic cap with a warning not to open when hot. hope this helps.

metal on metal possible will need brake pads and rotors ---as to abs activaction hub goiging bad abs sensor going bad but if driving and the ice and snow and abs activate then thats normal and the sound is the worn brakes

Hi, try unhooking your Negative battery terminal and leaving it unhooked for about 5 minutes, then reconnect it. This should clear any fault codes that are stored in the computer. It's very possible that your BCM, ( Body Control Module) is failing. Take your car to a Mechanic that you trust... Hope this helps.
