check fuses. scan the PCM yet? 1998 4wd is computer controlled NP-136 transfer case, which works more like traction control. The Bravada was now run in RWD in normal operations, and only when wheel slip was detected did the SmartTrak engage AWD The NP136 transfer cases was manufactured with electrical shift encoder motors, this unit has two different drive ranges 2 high and 4WD (run at reduced speeds) with the front output drop on the driver side. This unit has a 27 spline front output and utilizes a rear slip yoke. if you have purchased your car used the very first order of business is to double check the tire diameters. Used car dealers may have mismatched size the tires to make the sale. Mismatched tires will cause the NP136 transfer case to fail.The NP136 transfer case unit has a couple of problems, it utilizes a viscous coupler clutch system that can fail. One way to recognize this failure mode is clicking sounds when turning on dry asphalt or concrete surfaces. Viscous coupler failure is attributed to excessive heat build up. The second problem is that the oil circulation pump on NP136 can wear a hole in the case, we provide a transfer case saver to prevent this from happening. Once you have a hole in the case fluid will be lost and the case will fail. Don't leave home without our case saver, it's only a matter of time. Recommended fluid for the NP 136 transfer case is GM part number 12378396. and more get the car serviced, or learn to scan first. and post DTC seen

I have that same problem you have to get in the steering column and right under the key. If you don't want to open it it's a little slot when you pop off stick something like a pencil a sword in there and as you're pushing it, you have to turn the key, I have a 98 divided two do you know the speaker wiring colors anybody on a 98 Oldsmobile bravada

all 4 blinkers, front and read. dead. fuses good is first check them. hazards dead , again all 4 corners of the car. older post.

Sounds like your rotors are beginning to warp. This causes uneven braking which is why it takes longer to stop. Have your brakes inspected and resurface or replace the disc brake rotors.

Did you check the voltage at the socket, and for corrosion in the socket? Also, the center pin in the socket is spring loaded, and may be stuck too far in to make contact, or you may be inserting the bulb the wrong way.

The security module may have failed - I'm afraid your only recourse will be to take it to a dealer.

is their pressure to rack---also new doesnt mean free from defects can have a failed seal in rack ---air bound

You have to remove the center console completely. You can access the back of the stereo through the glove box. Hope this helps.

starts and shuts right off - anti-theft system problem not fuel pump.

look under the car bonnet and confirm the black negative terminal is connected to the body of the car. Then the wire that lines up to the centre of the reverse globe would have to be positive. There may not be a negative wire on the globe it might use the car body to connect negative. otherwise the wire near the outer edge of the globe is going to be negative. if no negative wire used then use an earth point on the body of car for camera negative wire.

Did you hook up a professional type scan tool an read code's ? Just replacing parts an hoping you fix the problem isn't the way to diagnose .

make sure its in park. also if you have 10 pounds of junk on your key rings the lock is worn out now.
