1996 Chevy Silverado 1500 burns up ignition modules every couple days
c1500 (forgot the "C")/? 3 engine + diesel, not old engine,
try new distrib ? or fully rebuilt
not told exact part bad.
ICM, sure.
most folks that replace parts inside any distrib, (electronics only()
do so wrong.
it must have the heat sink thermal compound used, (thin)
or it over heats,, rebuilts are best for sure maker CARDONE 1.
the ICM has metal side, that must be thermal pasted.
must.
is use dow 340 compound or better.
dow makes some that is 8x better for the fasted processor made by intel. that run super fast and super hot.
so when I do care parts I use this, DOW TIM> TC-5022
340 up 5022 is nothing less than fantastic. use only thin covering
thin is best, even .002" thick film even use old credit car to do that.

first.... is this when the engine is cold or at operating temp. or does it make a difference.it would help to know what make model and year, that being said, high idle is generally caused by vacuum leak somewhere or dirty throttle body . does it have a vacuum brake booster or power steering brake booster?

Were is the evap vent solenoid fuse
Pop open the hood and locate the fuse box in the engine bay. Open the cap, and you will see a lot of fuses. We would like to point out that all information about the fuse location is already printed on the inside of the fuse box's cover. However, the fuse you are looking for is 4WS Fuse and PCM 1 fuse, both of which have a 15-Amp fuse. To know more about the fuses on your Silverado, visit the link: https://fusesdiagram.com/chevrolet/fuses-and-relay-chevrolet-silverado-1999-2007.html
