2008 Mazda Tribute - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

I had the same problem with my 08 tribute. Decided to disassemble the display. Kind of a pain, but only took 10 minutes. The issue was in the bottom board of the display. One end of a resistor had a bad solder joint and was just sticking up in the air like a dogs leg when peeing on a tree.. lol. Hope this helps

It sounds like a shift solenoid is giving you the problem. Many times when an electronic part is about to take a dump you get the indication of a problem but the check engine light may not illuminate and pop a code. Second posibility may be an issue with your torque converter. Best bet would be to have it checked by a 'reputable' transmission shop to locate the issue and get a quote for a repair.

It sounds like it is a linkage issue between the lock cylinder and the ignition switch. The ignition switch is located on the steering column and there is usually a rod that connects the lock to the switch. These switches have some adjustment, so you should be able to loosen the bolts and move the switch up the column. Just remove the panels below the steering column and look for a bunch of wires plugged in towards the bottom of the steering column.

starter motors are known to developed dead bars in the commutator whee the brush sitting directly over the bar will no complete the circuit However just rolling the car with out working the starter will not move the starter to a new position what you can do is remove the starter and have it bend tested and the brushes inspected The first place to check is the neutral and park switches for adjustment or correct operation could be a simple loose wire to the starter

Find a suitable replacement and use gorilla glass glue. Good luck.

dirty oil , transmission pump pressure , TCM, VSS or TR sensors are all possibilities for the problem refine the problem area by having the fault codes read

check brake pad thickness( have a indicator that runs on the disc when the pads are too thin

I would say its just a mute isnt it?

If your brake pads were badly worn and your calliper pistons came out too much ,they get scratched no longer smooth (1)they don't realise after depressing pedal.(2)roughness inside the housing coz wen the piston goes out to much it won't be move straight so it scratches on the sides

TRY TO GREASE CABLE.

The 2 bolts are torqued to 18ft pounds. I cannot find a torque spec for the pulley

the relay is behind the drivers kick panel (panel by your left foot) i've attached a schematic (i hope ) if doesn't open post back and i'll retry

check for a viscous fan hub problem or electric fans fault run the fault codes check for water in the radiator ( not the reservoir)

try disconnectn batt then see if it reboots--or it could b a worn module in the wiring--or radio gittn old

If the signal from the sending unit is correct, the problem would be in the gauge on the dash.
