Engine surges
If it is surging at idle in park as well check the MAF tube is facing the right way.. there is an arrow which shows flow direction.
Car wont accelerate
I would step on accelerator and the car would hesitate and half the time stall and shut off engine. I had the PCM flashed to more current software (tis s3114b8) and the car stopped hesitating and stalling. Cost 135 bucks at dealer although some shops can do it cheaper.
Both headlights stopped working. Why?
If both stopped at the same time then you could have just blown a fuse. A lot of times though it's just the bulbs and the owner didn't notice there was a problem until both lights burned out, and they had been driving around with one for a while.
I can see that a fuse (marked 30 A) related to my
yes its a very large main fuse you can find at any auto parts store to make sure you could swap it out with fuse like the horn or other accessory and see if it works but the blown one needs to be replaced anyway

Pontiac G3 check engine light
I had that problem with mine it was the throttle position sensor. take back to dealer a code should show up if it is the sensor they can reset it but that would fix the problem need to change the sensor. Expensive fix it is part of in take manifold you change the whole manifold.
Replacing the output shaft speed sensor - speedometer will not work?
Codes do not mean a sensor is bad or needs to be replaced
Codes could mean the sensor is doing it's job & the transaxle
has a problem.
You need to google the code & do some research on diagnosing it.
Never need a dealer for anything, unless you like spending extra money vs: a local shop
That sensor is a magnetic output sensor & it gets it's field activated
from a toothed wheel inside the trans, on one of the clutch drums,
so no programming etc.
Battery
glove box light, trunk light, it is a current draw overnight
to know if there is a current draw is to connect a ampmeter to battery , ignition switch off, close all doors. if ampmeter read higher than 50mA then remove one fuse at a time when ampmeter change you have the circuit that draw the current and battery dead
hope it helps
