Mercedes c280 hood release latch broken how to open hood
I just opened the hood on a 97 C280, I have no pics or video because it's done now really simple, follow closely, first pry one side of the up far enough to see 2 10mm bolts on the radiator upper support, loosing the back one first, then in the middle of the condenser fan there is a 10mm bolt facing downward, you'll need a 1/4 drive rachet and 10mm socket for this, loosing that bolt as far as you can, use a 10mm wrench to finish if need be (also use the same wrech for the part), pry up the other side taking the screws a loose you took from the previous side, the hood is now open, you'll have to pull the cable from the firewall to get the slack you need to raise it higher, this will work
Hi.My 2001 Mercedes E320 key fob keeps setting off my car alarm. I have to take the battery out to keep it from happening. (Did change batteries thinking that was the problem) Any suggestion.....
The issue is probably due to damaged contacts on the membrane keypad or damaged tact switches within the fob. If you're comfortable doing so, open the fob to gain access to the switches or contacts. If it's a membrane style button then carefully clean the contacts on the circuit board with something like isopropyl alcohol or electrical parts cleaner. If using electrical parts cleaner, be careful not to get it on the plastic as it will likely soften, warp, and / or discolor the plastic. You're better off to spray on a cotton swab and clean the board with the swab.
If your fob uses tact switches, then you may opt to remove the switch from the board which will disable the panic feature. Or, if you have given up hope on the second fob, pull the switch from it and install that one on the otherwise working fob.
