Have an 08 tiburon. recently it was towed about forty miles home for reaaons other than mechanical it sat for three weeks without being cranked up.i went out and started the engine and it started smok

After sitting for a period of time it is NOT uncommon for a vehicle to exhibit symptoms such as this especially if the battery died as well. The lifters have a tendency to collapse under the constant valve spring pressure and the computer may have to relearn the idle characteristics. The best advice without actually seeing the vehicle would be to charge the battery, change the oil and filter if it is old and then restart it. Let it run without touching the accelerator and as it warms up it should clear itself up. There definitely wasn't a mechanical reason for the tow? I ask because I can't imagine what other reason would make someone tow their vehicle. Good luck, Vinnie

97 hyundai tiburon dash lights

Start with the engine. Open the bay and look in the direction of the firewall. There has to be a connection going to your dash there somewhere. Try pushing and pulling, maybe you will pinch the right cable. If that did not work, try taking a multimeter and looking for broken connections.

Only running on two cylinders?

Most electrical problems are either a short , loose connection, or software issue. Check to see if your vehicle has a CPU test point. If so take it to Autozone and they will test the codes for free. If the CPU (computer) is good then you probably have an open circuit somewhere. Check for loose connectors or broken wires. A short usually blows the fuses and then none of it works. A good volt/ohm meter is handy for tracing circuits.

Trunk Slams Shut

I am speculating but it seems unlikely the garage replaced the gas struts and if your trunk lid was ok before the accident, then it seems possible it came out of the bodyshop with worse gas lift struts than it went in with. If insurance paid for the repair it would be good to write your problem and suspicions and share them with the insurance company.

If 03 Tiburon over heets will it have trouble cranking

Depends on why it overheated. If it's dangerously low on coolant, your car may have a sensor that will shut the car off. It's a safety feature to keep you from damaging your engine. l'm sure it also has one for low oil pressure. If it overheated recently, it may not crank. If you have a temperature sensor, it may not be cooled off enough to start it safely. Make absolutely certain you've got enough coolant and the right mixture in your radiator/cooling system, and make sure the oil level is full. Low oil can also cause your engine to run hot.

LEFT TURN SIGNAL QUIT WORKING

Does it still "click" in rhythm like normal but just no lights flash, or is it completely dead? I'd check fuses first thing. If the fuse is good, you've got a wiring issue. If it's bad, of course replace it. It seems odd that both turn signals wouldn't be powered by the same fuse, however.

I have a 2004 hyundai tiburon gt 2.7 dohc and I dnt have any compression in cylinders 3 or 5.could somebody please tell me what is wrong

0 compression is burnt or bent valves. Could be a hole in the top of the piston also. If you have low compression, put a little oil in the spark plug hole and recheck. If the pressure stays the same, valves, it if goes up, rings on the pistons are worn out. Just a note, If you have 200k+ miles on it, replace the engine, a head job is not worth the time or money.

Hello Flona Kelly, It appears there is a FACTORY BULLETIN on this issue... Generally available on the internet... (I recommend (FREE: registration required at BBB Industries (below))) 2009 Tech Service BULLETIN 09-BE-026 Applies to all Hyundai models of the - Genesis (BH & BK), Tiburon (GK), Sonata (NF), Tucson (JM), Entourage (EP) and the Elantra (HD), 09-BE-026 (bbbind.com, below)): It is one of the best 've ever seen... quite simply states the hood contact is "to light"... which triggers the car alarm and the situations you describe. Specifies the PART REPLACEMENT of the rubber bumper (pictured: PAD - Lid Switch, part number 92736-3A000 "replaces" the existing part 92736-2D000 ("shorty"))) . This NEW part is 2.5mm deeper than the old one (From in front of an open hood it is on the right side center edge). Hope this helps!! 2003. How do I install spring clamps to lower the vehicle?

Never use spring clamps to lower a vehicle. In addition to being dangerous, they will alter you suspension geometry, completely ruin your ride quality and can easily wear out other parts of the suspension. Also, the break easily and can be noisy. Do it correctly with specially designed lowering spring and kit, (or good quality adj coil-overs) and have the wheels aligned after installing. What to buy for code p0444 for hyundai tiburon gt 2.7

Felix: Code p0444 indicates a LARGE leak, which often indicates a loose gas cap. It could also be the wrong kind of gas cap. Since they are cheap, this is where I would start. According to http://www.obd-codes.com/p0444 : On vehicles equipped with Evaporative emission control systems also known as EVAP, the engine draws in excessive fuel vapors from the gas tank that would otherwise be vented into the atmosphere. The fuel vapor is routed through a vacuum line to the engine's intake and the purge valve/solenoid meters the desired amount of fuel vapors, controlled by the vehicles powertrain control module (PCM) or engine control module (ECM). The PCM/ECM monitors the voltage to the purge control valve and has detected no voltage change with the purge valve commanded on. Note: This code is similar to codes P0443 and P0445. Symptoms Symptoms of a P0444 trouble code may include:
  • Check engine light on (Malfunction indicator lamp illuminated)
  • Slightly diminished fuel economy, this will not affect engine performance
Potential Causes Causes of this DTC may include:
  • Wiring harness loose or disconnected
  • Engine wiring harness open circuit
  • Purge control solenoid open circuit
  • PCM/ECM malfunction
Diagnostic Steps for P0444 DTC Engine wiring harness - Check all connectors to ensure they are plugged in properly, look for loose or damaged wires. Typically the purge control valve is energized by the the battery and triggered on and off with a duty cycle through the PCM/ECM. Using the manufacturers wiring diagrams, identify which type of circuit being used and check for battery voltage presence with the key on/engine off at the power side of the control solenoid connector using a digital volt ohm meter (DVOM) set to the volts scale. If no battery voltage is present, trace the wiring back and determine the cause for voltage loss. Test for continuity of the control side of the wire harness after disconnecting the plug from the control valve solenoid and the PCM wiring harness. Identify the correct wire at the PCM and control valve harness and check for continuity using the ohms scale on the DVOM, if excessive resistance is found, repair the circuit. If there is no continuity on the circuit, check all connections for damaged wiring, loose pins or disconnected harnesses and repair the circuit. Purge control solenoid - Check for continuity at the purge control solenoid connector pins after removing the harness plug using the DVOM set to the ohms scale. Verify resistance is within manufacturers specifications. If no continuity is present, suspect the solenoid is internally open and replace the part with a known good unit. PCM/ECM malfunction - Since the EVAP is only turned on during certain driving conditions, it will be necessary to monitor the EVAP control operation using an advanced scan tool capable and performing a road test under the driving conditions required to activate the EVAP system. Some advanced scan tools have an internal test to activate the EVAP system manually. Verify the PCM/ECM is commanding the EVAP system on. If the system is functioning correctly, it will be necessary to back probe the PCM/ECM wiring harness connector using a graphing multimeter or oscilloscope with a duty cycle feature with the positive lead on the purge control valve pin and the negative lead connected to a known good ground. The duty cycle should match what is commanded on by the PCM/ECM during EVAP operation. If there is no duty cycle present, the PCM/ECM may be at fault. This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a generic OBD-II powertrain code. It is considered generic because it applies to all makes and models of vehicles (1996-newer), although specific repair steps may vary depending on the model.a evaporative malfunction . purge valve and gas cap.
