2010 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7l Starting problem
Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Dodge Ram.
If it is an aftermarket remote starter it will be that, but you mentioned you replaced the WIN module. Unfortunately the 'let's try replacing this' method of car mechanics is expensive and seldom works. You diagnose and then you fix. With issues like you have, you connect a Pro Grade $5,000 scan tool computer, and it tells you exactly where the issue is as the machine communicates with all the modules and the TIPM. Google 'mobile auto electrician' and one will come to you. It will be a lot cheaper than the dealership.
We have a pro tech here who happens to be a top grade auto-electrician. Hopefully Jeff Armer will be along soon, but he is likely to tell you the same thing, you need a professional. Some things you can fix yourself, some you can't and this is one of them.
I recently put air flow in my 2010 1500 ram
i do not know what air flow is, but i know that the popping noise is the electronic vents opening or closing depends of the hot or cold selector. could be a vent not seated correctly or some obstruction keeping vents from opening or closing all the way
Headlights not bright
It's very difficult to see how a keyless remote could cause the problem you describe, to be honest.
The problem may lie in the reflective shield inside the headlight though you would notice any defects.
I'd still check the earth wires for the headlights though.
Security light stays on (constant) while truck is in use, no obvious problems though. What is going on
when you lock your vehicle with the remote it engages the alarm and the red light will flash fast for about 15 seconds. Then it will start flashing very slowly to show the system is armed. To disarm it you need to open the door with the remote or put the fob in the ignition. If you use the key to open the door and alarm is on it will go off. Only way I know of to make it quit honking and flashing lights is to hit unlock button or insert for into ignition.
I would sit in the vehicle and arm the lock with the remote and watch to light for about 1 minute to see if it does flash fast first then slowly. If it does it is working fine. If it doesn't then take it in and have dealer look at it.
Truck has no power an will not release key from ignition
Hello,
Any warning lights, check engine lights, codes or security/immobilizer lights flashing? I see the TIPM (totally integrated power module) fail a lot on these vehicles. Its basically a fuse panel with relays and fuses under your hood. They get corroded, sometimes wet etc. Locate it under your hood, if you are mechanically inclined feel free to check it out as far as plugs, wiring, pins, fuses and relays. Any more info will help us help you. Please Advise,
-Tim
