2012 Hyundai Elantra, horn and cruise control not working from steering wheel, but the radio controls are working (radio controls on left side, cruise control on right). Could it be the clockspring?

It could be, but you need to do some trouble shooting to determine the issue. Is there power to the switches? is there power to the clock spring? Is there continuity through the clock spring? Determining where the issue is will save $$.

Have certified used 2012 Elantra. Why does car SEEM to do a "sidestep" after i hit a small bump on road doing about 55-60 MPH?

The Elantra is not a very durable car. I owned one for three years. Mine was constantly in the shop for alignment issues, and steering problems. I still live in the pothole state of NJ. But I now own an Infinity for 2 years. Not a single issue with the suspension, or steering. The same potholes, but a durable car. My advice is that you get rid of the Hyundai, and get a Lexus, Infinity, or Volkswagen. These are very durable. Great on gas, and will save you money in the long run.

Why does my car downshift on its own when going up small hills. It didnt do this all summer but has this winter, living in Minnesota

The PCM is what controls this. It reads many sensors on the engine and transmission to shift up or down. Have you ever had the transmission serviced? If not, you over due. Start here. After that it would have to be put on a scanner and driven to see what is lacking on the sensor end of it. Depending on speed and incline of the hill, this is a normal procedure for the car.

My elantra 2013 has developed a clicking noise under the hood.

It could be as simple as a frayed belt hitting as the engine is turning. First visually inspect the belt. Then get someone to assist you and rev the car while you listen for the noise under the hood. A long screwdriver is sometimes helpful if you touch parts of the engine and components while the engine is running (carefully) to see if you can identify where the ticking is coming from. If it's a valve you ought to be able to hear/feel it through the long screwdriver when you touch the engine valve cover. make sure engine fluids are properly filled. also, sometimes it can be a fan component that ticks even after the car shuts off.

I just bought a certified pre-owned 2012 Hyundai Elantra and the rear rotors are only measuring 6 mm. This seems very low so I do not see how it could have passed certification. What is the minimum r

Hello Bethany, I know a bit about cars but being English I don't understand about rear rotors. I am guessing it is what we call brake discs or disc brakes. Unlikely I would have thought the actual rotors or discs would be worn to a thickness of 6mm (which would be bad news) and perhaps you are referring to the thickness of the friction material? It is only a relatively small percentage of braking effort that is exerted by the rear brakes so the rate of wear is much lower than the front brakes so it isn't unusual to discover new friction material isn't much thicker than about 8mm, though many are thicker and some are as thick as those at the front. It is a general rule that is adopted by most brake and car manufacturer that replacement of friction material or disc pads is not required until there is only 3mm left and I have seen manufacturer's recommendations saying 2mm. With 6mm of friction material still remaining which is two or three times the recommended minimum there would be no grounds to refuse certification. Take your car to the service shop and the guy in the greasy overalls will ask himself if 6mm will last you until your next visit and if he is honest he will replace only after asking you what sort of mileage you cover. If he is normal he will grab the extra profit with both hands...

Audio has no sound

I had the same problem. Everything worked except the sound. There is a small button next to the CD player that is a reset button. Press that and the audio came back. You have to reset your presets but at least the sounds works.
