Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation What does this mean? OBD Code P0016refers to The crankshaft position sensor (CKP) and Camshaft position sensor (CMP) work in harmony to control the spark/fuel delivery and timing. They both consist of a reluctor, or tone, ring which passes over a magnetic sensor, which generates a voltage, indicating position. The crankshaft sensor is part of the primary ignition system and functions as the "trigger". It detects the position of the crankshaft relays that information on to the PCM or the ignition module (depending on the vehicle) to control spark timing. The Camshaft position sensor detects the position of the camshafts and relays the information to the PCM. The PCM uses the CMP signal to identify the beginning of the injector sequence. What ties these two shafts and their sensors together is the timing belt or chain. The cam and crank should be precisely timed together. If the PCM detects that the Crank and Cam signals are out of time by a specific number of degrees, this P0016 code will set. Symptoms Possible sumptoms of OBD code P0016 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination The engine may run but with reduced performance The engine may crank but not start The engine may exhibit a rattle near the harmonic balancer indicating the tone ring is damaged The engine may start and run, but poorly Causes Possible causes of OBD code P0016 Timing chain stretched, or timing belt skipped a tooth due to wear Misalignment of timing belt/chain Tone ring on crankshaft slipped/broken Tone ring on camshaft slipped/broken Bad crank sensor Bad cam sensor Damaged wiring to crank/cam sensor Timing belt/chain tensioner damaged Possible Solutions First, visually inspect the cam and crank sensors and their harnesses for damage. If you notice broken/frayed wires, repair and recheck. If you have access to a scope, check the cam and crank patterns. If a pattern is missing, suspect a bad sensor or a slipping tone ring. Remove the cam gear and the crankshaft harmonic balancer and inspect the tone rings for proper alignment and make sure they're not loose or damaged or that they haven't sheared the key that aligns them. If they are properly installed, replace the sensor. If the signal appears normal, then check the timing chain/belt for proper alignment. If it's misaligned, check for a damaged tensioner that may have allowed the chain/belt to slip a tooth or several teeth. Also check that the belt/chain isn't stretched. Repair and recheck.

Possible causes. The button, wiring from the button to the PCM, PCM, wiring from the PCM to the cruise control module, cruise control module. Which in your case , the cruise module is the throttle body module. Drive by wire. Have the codes read.

It can not be done, you will have to contact your Jaguar dealer and get a new key.

For the backs you will need to put it into park to get them off. Front take the to screw loose and lift the top of the caliber.

First you need a 12v lamp in a holder or get someone to solder two wires to one, next disconnect the earth lead of the battery and connect the lamp between the battery and earth if you have battery drain the lamp will glow brit the less drain the less the lamp will glow, remember you will always have a bit of drain, now you can remove a fuse at a time and look at the lamp if it glows less this could be the circuit that's at fault. the touch screen on the car should allow you to change the compass setting...I cant remmeber if yours has this but see if you can touch the compass on the screen display to make the direction allow of the car be in accordance with the cars real movement or north as you wish..Keep me posted

fit the cheap chinese ones ,as good as anything .here in spain they crack on the sidewalls before they wear out so i use the cheapies ,mine are 16s but 98W speed rating ,expensive for a clapped out XJ6 1994 4.lt that only goes to the costa blanca jaguar owners meetings.

This is the automatic speed limiter in newer Jaguars. It is a feature used by the driver to prevent exceeding a set speed. Once the feature is turned on using the ASL button, the actual speed at which the feature will limit you and prevent any further acceleration is set using the cruise control rockers.

You can always hook it to a parking light power wire.

This could just simply be a fuse proplem, as circuits are designed to accomodate, a number of functions.

It probably just needs lubricating, have someone press lightly on fuel door while you press switch, then when open apply some lube (oil, grease) to the locking pin that moves when you press switch.

It cuts power to the fuel pump when the car suffers crash damage. The inertia switch is located in the footwell behind the trim on the right-hand side of the vehicle, forward of the front door post, below the fascia. A finger access hole allows the driver to reset the switch.
