How do you remove outside handle on driver's door on 2012 s60
On a S60, 2012, (drivers door) you first remove the plastic cover in under which you find the lock (with keyhole).
secondly, open the door and remove the 15 mm diameter plastic cover near the handle. Insert a long torx scrwdriver(T25 ?) in the
opening and while keeping the door handle "open" (this gives you the possibility to easily replace the handle later) Turn the torx until it stops
(do not use much force). Now you can pull out the metallic lock, peer
out the small white plastic under the door handle and pull out the handle. Do not turn the torx before you have replaced the handle.
In the case of back door, you start by finding the hole for the torx under the doors rubber sealing near the door handle.
How do I permanently solve the message on my S60 which reads 'Anti-skid service required'?
There are several parts that could cause that message, and getting it to a garage to properly diagnose it would be a great idea. If it's the I think it was 2001 to 2009 model, one huge culprit for that error, especially if it is intermittent and more often seen in hotter weather, is the "clockspring" or steering wheel position sensor. It determines the position of the steering wheel to help the anti-skid system determine how to apply breaking or torque to the wheels as needed. It's a known failure point and easy to replace, but can cost between about $250 and $350 easily. Other culprits could be a yaw rate sensor or a sensor in the wheel area that determines the rotation speed of the wheel. That part is super easy to get to and cheap to replace, but usually don't go bad.
PDC (park distance controle )
Errors like that generally are in the computer so you want a Volvo VIDA readout. That can be done at the dealer or cheaper at a Volvo independent repair shop.
It will tell you where the problem is and WHAT the problem is - and the solution.
Volvo 2005 s60 turns over 3 or 4 times then nothing, dash lights come on intermittently. When applying jumper cables nothing happens the car wont start, nor will the dash lights come on.
Check that the battery cables on snug/tight on the battery (in the trunk on the left side) and also check under the hood, on the driver side. There's a little lid by the strut tower where the positive battery cable comes in. If that cable isn't tight, you may also have issues starting.
These cars are really sensitive with the battery condition so you might want to take the battery to AutoZone to have them test it - or if the battery is over 5-6 years old, you might want to replace it anyway. A weak battery will make the computer confused in these cars.
Home Depot (of all places) actually has the H8/Group 49 battery. That's the "diesel" battery for these cars. Yours will be H6/Group 48, but the H8/G49 battery is larger and fits right in and gives you more capacity.
PO71 code for a 2004
P071 is not a valid code, the codes are like this "P" and four numbers following.
Volvo s60 key
One of the keys is most likely a chip key which sends a signal to the security system to allow the starting of the car. The other key may not have the chip or be programmed, therefore it can not send the signal to the security system allowing the starting of the car. It will crank but not start.
