1988 BMW 525 Questions & Answers
I have a 93 525i BMW and i keep getting a warning!
On the 1990 model 525i (which should be similar), there is a float switch located at the bottom driver side of the radiator in the integrated overflow/fill tank just above the radiator drain. This float switch is what triggers the 'Low Coolant' indication on the dash. The electrical connector faces towards the rear of the radiator and has a rubber boot that protects it. To replace it, pull boot back, remove electrical connector, loosen and unscrew the retaining nut (accessible from underneath the car) and slide the old level switch out and install the new one in reverse.

Abs light stays on
you will need a scan tool to plug into the vehicle and retrieve the fault code then a diagnosis would be able to be determined, important this is done as the ABS is a safety feature. A local Auto Electrician would be able to help, or the dealership.

2007 bmw series 525 code 4f97 what's this code
Hi
this could point to either low oil in your gear box, or a faulty speed sensor, if you have a oil leak on the transmission this would come up, but also if the speed sensor also on the transmission is faulty you would get this code..
hope this helps

How do i open petrol cap on bmw 525 diesl
The petrol flap doesn't have a lever to open it like other cars but can be opened when the car is unlocked by pushing on one side of the flap to open, if this will not open then the fuel flap locking actuator is faulty and has not unlocked the fuel flap, if this has occurred open the boot and on the left hand side of the boot you will see a round button, if you cannot see this and you only see a hole then chances are the side cover has been off at some stage and the button hasn't been reinstated, if it is there, pull on it and it will pull the fuel flap locking actuator back allowing you to open the fuel flap.
Location for fuel pump on
Typically, you will find the fuel pump for a BMW 525 located under an access panel in the trunk. Remove the contents of the trunk, remove the floor/spare tire cover and a metal access panel will be visible on the floor being held in by several small bolts. The panel is about 4"x6" in size. Remove the bolts, carefully pry up the panel (it has some sticky sealing material) and the fuel pump mounted on top of the gas tank will be visible with fuel lines entering/exiting it. This is where it was for my 1990 525i.
