Stop Lamps
The 15A BRAKE fuse located in the fuse block - underhood, supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stop lamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to both left and right stop lamp assemblies, the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL), the powertrain control module (PCM), and the throttle actuator control (TAC) module. The stop lamps are grounded at G401 and G403. The CHMSL is grounded at G301.
I replace thremsta 2 months ago, now starting to overheat again
Assuming that you put in the correct temperature thermostat, have a 50:50 mix of good anti-freeze, and no leaks, I would check the electric fan that cools the radiator to see if it is coming on as the temperature climbs. I am not if you vehicle has a single or dual stage speed for the fan.
Over heat after replace themsta 2 months
If the t/stat fails in the closed position an overheat will result. I have had a brand new one fail a week after I put it it. Rare but does happen. Have you checked the rad hose, is it warm, hot, or cold during the overheat condition? Is the coolant actually flowing through the system? When its cold (after sitting overnight) remove the rad cap, look at the fluid level...normal? If so start the car and let it run with the cap off..feel the rad hose soon as it starts to get hot look in the rad (be careful if your system has a vapor lock it may spit the air out, best to have a face shield on just in case!)..is the coolant flowing? It should start flowing at some point. If not the t/stat is stuck closed or the water pump is broken/seized.
How do I fix error code P0744, )730,0736, 0602
0602 refers to the Engine Control Module ,either faulty , needs reprogramming,or wrong ECM which unless you've had it changed recently it will be one of the first two .The other codes all refer to the transmission and Powertrain Control Module , the only thing that can be done within a reasonable budget is to have the transmission fluid changed . The other causes are going to cost depending on what may be the fault if changing the fluid did'nt help, sorry not good news as there are no easy fix's to these type's of problems. Best advice get a diagnosis from a transmission specialist although as you've mentioned $1500 you probably have already. These OBD codes are only an indicator of which sensor/switch may be at fault so upto you if you try the fluid change as could only be around $100-$150 at most, otherwise may be better to change car in good luck
Ignition
There was a recall on some of those ignition switches ,might be something to check into
Code p0496
Evaporative Emission System Flow During Non-Purge
MY 2005 EQUINOX AWD front right wheel intermittent braking and shaking
Could be caused by a sticking/failing CV joint. If you check boots and see cracks or tears most likely the Joint then got debris which could lead to failure.Confirm that it FEELS like brakes are active but your NOT applying brakes. If this is the case then my thought on CV joint would be first check. I had one fail a few years ago and it was similar. Vibration started and then I could feel the vehicle slowing. If you ARE applying brakes and you fee the shudder or vibration then it may be related to a tie rod end. A worn tie rod allows the wheel to go off track slightly and the result we feel when driving is a shudder or vibration.Hope this helps guide to a solution.
Equinox heated seats not working
It may be because of a bad fuse, so first replace the 20-Amp fuse located in the instrument panel fuse box. If that does not solve the problem, check for:
1. Broken switch connection
2. Broken switch
3. Broken or weak wiring
4. Broken circuit
5. Faulty heating pad
If this sounds too overwhelming, it would be best to take your car to the dealership for a quick fix.
