2006 Chrysler 300 Touring - Page 5 Questions & Answers
I have replaced the the Thermostat on my Chrysler 300 with the 5.7 Hemi Engine. It still over heats. Is there more than one thermostat on thi engine?
You didn't state when it overheats, if it is while driving the fault can be : belt driving water pump slipping , lower radiator hose collapsing, most common is clogged radiator. Start the engine with the radiator cap off when it is COLD and observe the flow in side. If you see really fast flow of coolant you have the bottom portion of the radiator stopped up. The only way to know is to remove the radiator and have it flow tested.
A blown head gasket or cracked head will cause steam to come out of the exhaust, water in the oil (milky). If it is running hot while idling , check fan to see if it is turning as it should when it should. Older cars have fan clutches that go bad, newer ones have temp thermostats that go bad.
How to reset tha sunroof on a Chrysler 300s,
I have a Chrysler 300 to and it seems to me the sunroof button is very sensitive and I have a hard time opening and closing the sunroof then it finally get's into the right place and works like a charm. I thought it was just my Chrysler that did that. I guess you could go to a Chrysler dealership and they can tell you more.
My car starts and all
First, check to make sure your brake lights are coming on when you press the brake pedal. This sounds strange, but the brake light curcuit is what powers the shift interlock safty solenoid. That is the solenoid that makes it impossable for a child to shift out of park without pressing the brake pedal first. If the brake lights don't work then you will need to check the fuse for the brake lights first. If that is OK then you will need to do some diagnostics on that curcuit.
If the brake lights are working;
It can be the interlock solenoid inside the shifter assembly, or something mechanical.
Check you owners manual for instructions on relesing the interlock manually so you can drive the car. It is usually a small slot or pin hole next to the shifter that you can insert a small pin or something and press down to release the shifter. I wouldn't recommend driving the car if the brake lights are not working.
