Getting cold air only on right side of heater assy, hot air on left side

you most likely have a bad blend door motor, or the actual door is broken inside the heater box. Jeeps used to have this issue, the door shaft snaps and only half will work. If you can turn from hot to cold on the side that's warm, then that's most likely what is going on.

Ticking sound when accelerating

Sounds like your exhaust manifold gasket is leaking. That would allow you to hear your valves upon acceleration. Have your mechanic check and/or possibly replace gasket.
