Les, The chain in the 2.3 is to last as long as the engine, normally if some thing was to happen, chain guides would wear first and you would likely here a rattling noise that would alert you to have things checked. This engine is known as an interference engine, meaning if chain did slip/break, it could cause real damage to engine valve train and pistons. Try removing the plastic inner wing panel. It is held on with plastic two-piece plugs which can be removed by using a flat blade screwdriver to remove the centre part of the plug. No all the plugs need to be removed as the panel will bend to give you access. If you see another panel behind this panel, don't panic, simply reach behind and up to access the park light and indicator light bulb holders. They twist anticlockwise to remove them. If need be, someone with a torch can guide you to the bulb holder by looking from above.
