2006 Hyundai Getz 1.4 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Why are shifts noisy with burning smell?
You do not say whether it is auto or manual, but I assume manual, and by the sounds of it the clutch is slipping due to wear.
There is a test you can do. Start the engine, put it in 3rd gear, apply the foot brake, and let the clutch out. The engine should promptly stall, and if not, you need a replacement clutch.

Hyundai getz left tail & park lights dont work fuse ok
With all respect, my Hyundai has a similar problem and it appears to be an over-voltage problem. If you can access wiring diagrams, do so and verify all is OK. Particular attention to the quality of earthing is reccomended, as this can cause voltage issues.

Cylinder head torque settings
start in the middle and work your way alternatively outwards ,now in the book it gives these silly dynometric settings like 20 then turn backwards 120? and then tighten 90? ,what a load of brown stuff from cows ,now the proper colin way ,firstly pull down starting with a rachet on the middle two bolts then one up to the right then one down to the left and work your way outwards ,two fingers on the rachet ,now run over it again pulling the rachet properly and this should put about 50 lbs ,now with a decent bar or better still a clicky thing set to 65lbs and you will not be far wrong .This will be a proper job and you shouldnt need to pull the head down again.

Coolant boils,whats the problem?
Hi Odnanref, If the coolant is boiling you have a problem with the cooling system. If you cannot see a leakage have the thermostat in the engine checked and replaced and hope that you have not overheated the engine to the extent of needing a cylinder head reconditioning job carried out. The AC is effected because the condenser is mounted in front of the radiator and depends on cooling from the fan. If the engine overheats the AC will be unable to cool. Regards John
