2006 Kia Sorento 3.5 Questions & Answers
Kia Sorento diesel suddenly stops
Apparently there is a temperature sensor somewhere that if it detects an overheat, it will shut the engine down. I've had it cut out 4-5 times when overtaking. Very nasty. Yet to find what the underlying cause is - collapsing radiator hose perhaps?
Over heating doneheads and water pump maybe cat
Check thermostat is opening and if the radiator has not been serviced have it cleaned or new one and yes check the convertor is,nt blocked it will make a hissing sound if it's blocked when you Rev it up.
Power steering pressure hose replacement
I need more info to help you. Take it to a good shop. It is ok to drive it there, just try to tape or plug or wrap the hose just in case all the fluid has not drained out you don't want to make a mess. It will be hard to steer, you will just have to drive old school, like it was before power steering. Mike
My 2006 KIA Sorento won't idle and is pecking!! I
SOUNDS LIKE the throttle position sensor (tps) (will cause surging), or mass air sensor (mas) if equipped (or your equivalent) Unplugging the mass air sensor will cause the computer to switch to limp home mode, which will clean up the idle till you replace the sensor, ( usually located on the air intake tube or at the air cleaner) These are sometimes on the ame circuit as the crank sensor (picked up on the scanner), but the coils and crank are totally the wrong direction. P0134, p0154
Code 134 is for no activity or signal coming from the O2 sensor for bank one sensor one. Code 154 is for no activity or signal from bank 2 sensor one. My first guess would be a wiring problem since it is rare for two sensors to fail at the same time.
