There were some issues with those in that model year. Not expensive to replace.

you probably need to recharge the system go to you local auto parts store and ask them for help they will show you how to do it. LARRY B

Check or dirty or worn parts. Clean in and around choke area, including electrical connection pertaining to the choke. Good cheaper way to begin.

Check for any fuel leaks from fuel tank forward. Replace all air filters. Check that all engine relays are good and properly seated. Are all of your vacume lines are serviceable. No cracks or worn in lines. Ensure no water in the fuel tank. Ensure you are utilizing the best fuel for the vehicle without using a too rich of a fuel. Air in the tires is good. No dragging brakes. Serviceable tires.

Normal operating temps range from 80 to 95C. All depends on what temperature the thermostat opens and heat load on the radiator.

I would start by replacing flasher.

I think the M130 engine uses a timing chain. To get you timing marks set up correctly you mignt have to take the top rocker cover off to see the Cam timing marks. The Crank should be set up to the centre 'OT' mark for Top Dead Centre, (TDC). there is a set of numbered marks either side of it. The pulley is marked for both Top Dead Centre and Bottom Dead Centre, (BDC). Being a Mercedes the marks are in German. OT for TDC and UT for BDC.

The hood release is not affected by the battery. Under the dashboard on the driver's side there is a small pull lever that releases the main latch for the hood. Open the car door wide and put your head in the foot well and look up. The lever will have a marker on it like the first attached picture. When pulled the hood should 'pop' open. Move to the front of the car and look between the slots in the front grill. There should be a pull tag, (picture 2), to release the second latch. When you re-close the hood push 'Both' sides of the hood down as it can flex and not lock properly.
