1992 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale. Directions on how to remove the cylinder heads on my Delta 88 with 5.7 diesel engine?

Question edited for clarity, spelling and typos. Question moved to model category. Watch Scotty Kilmer's videos on checking for cylinder head gasket leaks. Always diagnose, don't guess based on bubbles which can be caused by air sitting in the cooling system. https://www.youtube.com/@scottykilmer/search?query=how%20to%20test%20cylinder%20head%20leak Head Gasket replacement is not for the faint hearted. You need a good set of tools and a torque wrench. And whilst you are in there, you might as well check and lap (fine grind) the valve mating surfaces. You can also get additives that can seal SMALL and I mean small, cylinder head leaks. Scotty Kilmer has videos on that as well. https://www.google.com/search?q=1992+oldsmobile+delta+88+royale+replace+cylinder+head+gasket ..

I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight Royale and the trunk light only works during the day and doesn't work at night!

There are a few potential causes for the trunk light in a 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Royale not working at night. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the trunk light bulb to make sure it is not burnt out or loose.
  2. Check the fuse for the trunk light in the fuse box. If the fuse is blown, it will need to be replaced.
  3. Inspect the wiring for the trunk light for any damage or lose connections.
  4. Check the trunk light switch to make sure it is functioning properly.
  5. If the issue persists, you may need to have the electrical system in the trunk inspected and repaired by a professional mechanic.
I hope this helps! If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask.

Leaking Oil Plug '92 Olds 88 Royale LS

I wonder if the sealing washer that is on this plug has been lost. These washers are usually aluminium or have a rubber insert, and without it there you are trying for a steel on steel seal. A stripped thread can often still be backed out, that's no guarantee. Try for a tightening torque of about 15-20 ft-lb and if you get to that it isn't stripped. Don't worry if it IS stripped, you can buy anoversize self-tapping plug. http://www.autozone.com/repairinfo/common/repairInfoMain.jsp?targetPage=productsHowToInspect&leftNavPage=productsHowTo&pageId=%090996b43f80a011f7&subtitle=replace

Code 43 ESC circuit / knock sensor. Poor power, intermittent rough starts (chug chug and die if I don't give it gas). SES light on within 10 secs of start most always. Sometimes goes off for awhile

By "stinky smell" do you mean the smell of unburned (raw) gas? If so then the ignition is not burning all the gas which could be that the computer is getting the wrong reading from somewhere and turning the fuel up. Possible trouble areas - MAF sensor located on intake just after the Air filter (Manifold Air Flow). The O2 sensors also regulate what fuel the computer puts out. You indicated that the fuel additive helped what type and grade of fuel are you using? Might try Mid-grade and a different brand of fuel. Was the 43 code the only one that showed up or were there others? Remove the Positive cable from your battery and wait a few seconds and replace it. This will reset your computer and take a while for the computer to get new readings but it will eliminate any old information that is stored in the computer that could be giving you a false reading. Usually about 40 - 50 miles of driving or around 20 times starting it and the computer will be up to date. These are things that I would try if it were mine. It's kinda like a darn Dart Board sometimes especially when you are broke [which is the way I stay on Social Security]. Good luck and if I can help in any way feel free to contact me.

92 oldsmobile 88 royale check engine code 55

Check the Mass Air Flow Sensor, you can get a can of cleaner specific for cleaning them for a couple bucks at the parts store. I'd just get 1 and clean the sensor see if that works. The MAF sensor is either in the throttle body itself (bolted on from the outside or in the air line between the filter and throttle body. That could be the whole problem right there. Good luck.

1992 oldsmobile 88 royale needs jump to start but battery and terminals, solenoid, starter and alternator have been checked and are good. what else could it be?

It sounds like you have ruled out some common causes for the starting issue with your 1992 Oldsmobile 88 Royale. If the battery, terminals, solenoid, starter, and alternator have all been checked and are in good condition, there are a few other things you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
  1. Check the fuel system. A faulty fuel pump or clogged fuel filter could cause the engine to not start. Check the fuel pump and fuel filter and replace them if necessary.
  2. Check the ignition system. A faulty spark plug or ignition coil could cause the engine to misfire and not start. Check the spark plugs and ignition coils and replace them if necessary.
  3. Check the fuel pressure. Low fuel pressure can cause the engine to not start. Check the fuel pressure and make sure it is within the manufacturer's specifications.
  4. Check the engine temperature. If the engine is overheating, it could cause the engine to not start. Check the engine temperature and make sure it is within the normal range.
If you have checked all of these things and the problem persists, it is possible that there is an issue with the engine itself, such as a problem with the valves or cylinders. I recommend having a mechanic diagnose the problem in order to determine the cause and recommend the appropriate repair. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Delta 88. When I start

Troubleshooting rochester 2gc carburetor --- I

It sounds like you are experiencing a problem with the Rochester 2GC carburetor on your 1957 Oldsmobile. The issue you described, where the engine is difficult to restart after it has been shut off for a period of time, could be caused by a number of things. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the fuel level in the carburetor bowl. If the fuel level is too low, the engine may not start. Make sure the fuel level is at the proper level and that the bowl is not leaking.
  2. Check the float level. The float in the carburetor controls the fuel level in the bowl. If the float is set too high, it can cause the engine to flood when it is restarted. Adjust the float level according to the carburetor manufacturer's specifications.
  3. Check the fuel pump. The fuel pump supplies fuel to the carburetor. If the pump is not working properly, it could cause the engine to flood or not start at all. Test the fuel pump and replace it if necessary.
  4. Check the fuel lines. Make sure the fuel lines are not clogged or damaged. Replace any damaged or clogged fuel lines.
I hope these suggestions help! Let me know if you have any other questions.
