fuel level sensor (yes is float)
most of these sensor, well not open here.
there are 2 or 3 wires.
the meters had then a thermal meters.
fuse >>keyon>>>> meter in, meter out >>> sender >>gnd.
if sender is bad voltage to hot pin is 12vdc.key on.
if less it is good like 6v.
my old 91 car had 120 ohms empty and 3 ohms full.
30ohms 1./2 full sender pot.,
so gas full is near 0v. or 1v.
the meter has shut inside,
not opel but old and generic answers.
fails: ?? all answers connected !
fuse blown
meter bad rare
sensor bad common 12vdc on its pin is bad
ground bad super common 12v on this pin ground is bad.
about 6 volts or less is common and good. on hot pin
for truth buy the service manual , like we do.
I have an Opel Kadett 200ie, 1996 model. I replaced the plug wires but neglected to mark the proper positions on the distributor cap.
well that firing order is wrong!
an Opel Kadett 200ie, 1996
no country told and 15 engines used world wide this car.
last one in UK is 1995
so I guess it is not UK?
sold under 11 names world wide.
IN UK it is really a Vauxhall Astra Mk II. badged as Opel. now that is confusing.
not diesel, but petrol AND ALL ARE INLINE 4 BANGER'S.
every car made ,every manual for for them in print tells you 2 answers ( distributors)
1: lost all distrib setting
2: or not lost SETTINGS, Crank not turned.
so read that book it tells you to do this.
SPIN ENGINE TO SEE DISTRIB ROTOR ROTATION CCW OR CW/? (HOLD THAT THOUGHT)
by hand
set crank pulley TO TDC ,-0 DEGREE'S AND BOTH VALVES CLOSED #1 CYLINDER. (CALLED FIRING)#1
CAP OFF. MARK ROTOR #1 TO DISTRIB BODY
THEN CAP ON AND MARK #1 ON CAP.
PUT #1 WIRE TO #1 CAP
AND 1,3,4,2, IN CW OR CCW DIRECTION SEEn ABOVE. at FIRST STEP.
DONE car runs.
if distributor was pulled there are 15 engine answers.
next time on all cars made on earth with HV spark wires
do them 1 at a time. and win.
distribs or any car with HV spark wires seen (sets)
I replaced the plug wires on my Opel Kadett 200ie, but neglected to mark or number on the distributor. Help
What year is this vehicle? Some manufacturers mark the distributor cap where number one is. If it isn't marked you can use a ratchet and socket to manually turn the crank clockwise until the timing marks line up correctly. When you then check the rotor inside the distributor cap it should be pointing at the terminal for cylinder 1, then working clockwise fit the rest of the plug leads in the correct firing order. I think the firing order is 1, 3, 4, 2.
Number 1 is the cylinder nearest the Belts and pulleys on the end of the engine.
What are torque settings for opel kadett cylinder head 96 model 1.6 engine ???
8v or 16v engine?
The latest torque value is often supplied with the replacement head gasket.
You should verify these figures from an official source but with any stretched or corroded bolts replaced and with all male and female threads thoroughly cleaned and lubricated along with the washers and under the bolt heads, the bolts are tightened in stages in a spiral pattern working outwards from the centre pair to an initial torque of 18 lbft.
As an example, many of the 8 valve Vauxhall/Opel engines are then tightened by 60 degrees + 60 +60 and then after a thorough warm up and at least 6 hours cooling the bolts are tightened a further 30/50 degrees depending on "feel".
I have a opel kadett 16v 1990 model its starts to a point but stil misfire
No easy answer - a code read might reveal something electrical but a generic obd 2 scanner doesn't read much data as it is manufacturer specific obd 1.
The cause could be almost anything from your very sparse description - from a dirty spark plug to bad compressions with a lot in between.
Best place to start is ensure the routine maintenance is up to date and thoroughly carried out.
Opei Kadett 2.0 have no spark on plugs and sensors help
Depends on the age of the vehicle as there have been many marks of Kadett. A description of the system would be helpful, however after a thorough visual inspection a code read would provide a starting point for diagnosis.
Earlier models are obd1 but some of the data can be read with a generic obd2 scanner.
How to connect the distributer wiring? Opel kadet 1.6
Put the car Crankshaft maker for ignition timing at TDC.
You need to know number one cylinder is on ignition fire position. You can do this by looking at the valve positions generally last end cylinders no 1 and 4 will be looked at.
No one fire position is when number four Valves are on the rock. ie inlet and exhaust are rocking. This being certain put the distributor in place so the arm or Rotor Arm is pointing to a contact in the cap. This will be number One firing. Now you know this you need to understand that there are two possible firing orders. 1342 or 1243 on fords.
The most important bit is knowing the direction of Rotor Arm. Normally anit clockwise. Number one is at the front or near the radiator if transverse engine or near the crankshaft other end of gearbox.
The cylinders on the engine count 1234 then put the leads in order or say 1342 So number one goes to number one cylinder then the next lead on the distributor in the direction of travel anti clockwise will be Number 3 cylinder then number 4 then last is number 2.
Firing has to be before top dead centre normally about 6 degrees. With the distributor in place make sure the lobe opens the contacts. The point at which these contacts open is the spark. The charge inside the coil releases as the points open. The collapse of the electrical field inside the coil is what provides the spark.
Hope this help you some engines had a key way for the distributor drive others had a helical gear.
