Secondary Air Injection System Pump Stuck Off Bank 1

What the P2445 code means

The secondary air injection system is designed to pump outside air into the exhaust in order to help reduce harmful emissions. This trouble code indicates that the powertrain control module has detected a malfunction with this system on the bank 1 side of the engine.

What are the causes of the P2445 code?

The most common cause of this trouble code is a failed air injection pump. The air injection pump is designed with a check valve inside which only allows air to flow in one direction, preventing exhaust gases from escaping through the air pump and only allowing air to enter. When this check valve fails, moisture is able to get inside the air pump. During the winter months this moisture can freeze, causing the air pump to seize up and possibly break. Other possible causes of this issue would include damaged wiring or connectors associated with the air pump, blown fuses, or a broken serpentine belt

check your doorswitches, test them take them out bridge the circuit and see if any chance. if not problem could be in ignition the plug behind ignition barrel could be faulty

Did you check for an inertia switch. Most vehicles have an inertia switch installed in the fuel pump circuit that cuts off the fuel pump when involved in an accident.

Suspect a drive shaft if brakes on throttle whilst braking stops it but would need a good look to have sort of idea ,and iam in spain so please consult a local mechanic

With the cylinder head removed and clamped down you will need to use a specialist valve spring compression tool. This allows you to remove the valve stem collets holding the spring cap in place. A small extendible magnetic pen is very useful for this. ***CAUTION*** Valve springs are VERY strong and if they slip they can do a SERIOUS amount of damage.
