2008 Hyundai Sonata Questions & Answers
2008 Hyundai Sonata. How do you reset a kill switch please?
" 2008 hydai donate ". I presume you meant 'Hyundai Sonata', so I changed it. :>)
A car doesn't have a 'kill switch', only motorcycles and lawn tractors have those. Your car has an inertia switch which cuts off fuel after a collision. Have you been in a collision? Details matter. They also have anti-theft immobilizers. Have you recently disconnected the battery or put a new battery in the key fob? Have you connected a scan tool and looked for Diagnostic Trouble Codes?
Fuel door will not open by pressing the button
I had the same problem. I fixed it by removing the fuel filler door switch and cleaning/sanding the contacts. You don't have to remove the door panel, just remove the 4 screws on the door panel, reach up and pinch the sides of the switch and push it out. Use a small screwdriver to pry off the black piece holding the contacts (you might want to wear gloves) in place. Remove the contacts and sand them lightly. Very easy to do and completely solved my problem.
Just i b ought sonata 2008 car and the tpms light
Usually your RF (radio frequency) is messed up and sending invalid data to your computer. You will have to take your car to the dealer and have them reset it. Mine keeps coming on too. I keep asking them if there is a recall on this. Mine has come on 5-6 times. And if you live where it is cold, it will come on in the winter too. Don't worry about this one, when theh weather warms it will go off
How to change starter
It is located under the alternator. If you are looking down at the engine, it is to the far left. If you are under the
car it is to the far right before the oil pan. "You Tube should have a video on how to.
What causes the esc light
The ESC Off light comes on and pushing the ON/OFF switch does not put it out. If I shut the car off and re start, the dash light goes out sometimes; May return the next time I start the car..I've heard that the problem has something to do with the brake sensors. People usually notice that the brake lights go crazy as well.My 2009 is in the shop right now for my check engine light. My ESC light is also coming on as well. They ran the diagnostic and the only code that showed up was a faulty
crankshaft sensor. I'm wondering if that is affecting the ESC. I know when the ESC comes on I get hesitation before it. That might be the
crankshaft sensors doing. They said no other codes came up.This problem was recalled back in 2007-2008 and is presently being recalled on some vehicles. This appears to be a common problem with Hyundais who refuse to address the problem unless the cars are recalled. Please write the National Car Safety so that they can request a recall. Without these complaints, the recall will not occur and everyone will be paying out of pocket for a manufacturing defect.
