2008 Chevy Impala. Trying to bypass the A/C compressor a 08 Impala.

You just remove the AC compressor and replace it with an AC Bypass Pulley. The belt and routing remains the same. https://www.google.com/search?q=2008+chevy+impala+ac+bypass+pulley ..

My 2008 Chevy Impala is stuck in 1 position even though it's in 'Park'.

Check that the shifter cable is still attached to the shift lever at the transmission. It's a fairly common issue for this year for the nylon bushing on the end of the shift cable to get brittle and break. This causes the shift cable to become disconnected from the shift lever.

Chevrolet 2008 impala won't drive or reverse after running perfect

it needs service not told./ 1: cranks fast? GRRRRGRRRRR (sound for 14 years heard) 2: cranks okay but will not start or stay running (the engine) 3: engine seems ok but runs but all GEARS PRNDL R D and L are dead. they all ran perfect before. but not today. if engine is and RPM go real high in D(drive) and R (reverse) that is called transmission failure and and can be simple or hard $$$ tell more get more , telling the blind.

2008 Chevy Impala. What do you think needs to be replaced exactly?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to category. If you have to shake it to get it to work, you have a loose connection or a bad, or corroded connection in a plug to the box. You just have to find it. I am not sure what box it is, but the Fuse Box and the Engine Control Module, should be bolted down..

My Chevrolet impala 2008 won't drive or reverse, never gave me any warnings regarding transmission issues

You either need to change the throttle position sensor or the gas pedal I got a 2008 Impala I had to put a new gas pedal in in so it would function properly

Why would a2008 Chevy Impala automatic transmission only drives in reverse ?

Hi, have you tried changing the oil filter? Or check the selector where it goes directly into the box, otherwise the selector inside the "brain" of the gearbox is knackered. Unfortunately the only way to fix it is virtually a full rebuild but I'd definitely check the filter first. Regards, Neil

2008 Impala auto trans only goes in reverse

It's probably nothing worse than a strained or broken shift linkage It'll need to go into the shop, but if it is just the linkage, it wont be to expensive. HOT TIP: Get better security on your car to stop it happening again. It'll be cheaper than fixing the damage

2008 impala wont crank, click or anything. Try to hook up code reader and it reads connection error. I also can't remove the key. My amp remote wire is wired to brown ignition wire. While car was running I was reconnecting to amp and car just shut off

Building on Mr Hooper's answer ... if you have managed to short something out as part of the ignition switch it could be one of the RELAYs in the engine compartment....box is near the passenger side firewall. I would evaluate the "STRTR" relay which is one of the larger ones in the box on the upper right hand corner. Sometimes if there are 2 identical relays in a box you just switch them to see if that changes anything, but for this Impala it does not look like there is a twin relay to play with. If you are handy with a multimeter you can check the relay ... watch video for some pointers to do that ... even if you do not have the internal wiring of the relay Good luck on your troubleshooting. None of the handful of fuses in the passenger compartment (shotgun side down by the kick plate) look like they have anything to do with the ignition/starting circuit.

Ok i ask about my 2008 chevy impala yesterday About my son using the air pump to put air in my tire and touch metal from a bare wire.

You would need your diagram that shows your fuse locations and values- replacing a fuse that is not blown can not hurt at all so just replace them both with the same values, if you are unsure putting a smaller size will not hurt, if its too small it will simply blow and when you replace it you know to go higher, you can also call chevy and ask they can give you the values or check the owners manual https://www.6ya.com/mr.mike good luck
