how I take the battery off my car?2008 Dodge Avenger
On a Dodge Avenger from 2008 the battery is behind the driver side wheel. You have to take the wheel off and then remove the plastic fender and the battery is right there just behind the front light.
Here's how to replace it:
1. Block your tires, jack up the left side of your car and place a jack stand under your car. Luckily for me I was at home and had access to my stand. If out and about you may not have access to a stand, make sure your jack is in tip top shape.
2. Remove your tire. You possibly could do it without removing the tire, but you would be making your life so much more difficult.
3. Now you have accessed the wheel well and must remove the fender shield. There are two socket head bolts on the outside which are 9/32." Next remove seven push-in style retainers. You must pry them out carefully so that you can reuse them.
4. You can now for the first time see your battery, but you are not quite there yet. There are two retaining systems in place. First is a cross way bar which is removed using the 13MM Socket. Next you must remove the actual battery restraint. This is held on with another bolt that is also 13MM.
5. Remove the battery cables using the 10mm socket. The red cable comes of fairly easy, but the black cable is a bit of a stretch. If you have short arms you may need some help here. Also I could not get the socket onto the black cable, so I needed to use the open ended wrench.
6. Finally you battery is free. Pull it out carefully and place it aside. Now slide in your new battery.
7. Inspect your cables. Make sure that everything is in good shape and that you have a solid connection before you put everything back into place.
8. Replace everything in reverse order.

where is the inside fuse box on 2012 dodge avenger located
If the lights, stereo, and other electronic components have stopped working, there is a strong possibility you have blown a fuse. The fuse box is located in the integrated power module on the right side of the engine. Refer to your car's manual to know which fuse may be causing the problem. In case you don't have a manual, follow this link to view your car's fuse diagram https://www.autogenius.info/dodge-avenger-2012-fuse-box-diagram/

where is the fuel filter on a 2008 dodge avenger
There IS no fuel filter on a Dodger Avenger with the 2.4L PZEV....it's an integral part of the fuel pump. Remove the rear seat bench, and you'll see a black plastic cover on the left (driver's) side. Pry that open, and you'll see the top of the fuel pump and a black retainer ring. Knock down all the tabs to release the pump and seal, remove, replace with a new pump and seal, replace retainer rain, all is good. Unless you somehow get a lot of dirt and water in your fuel, the integral filter's good for at least 100K miles. By that time, your pump's just about shot anyway, so change it out then, along with the spark plugs.

The trunk will not open with the key fob or the button inside the car. The key fob's battery is good, you can hear it click when you push the button and see the lights on the car flash, but the trunk will not open. We made sure the card was fully in park, and that the trunk lid was fully closed. We had to pull the emergency hatch to open the trunk.
It's a common problem. The electronic release mechanism for the trunk breaks and has to be replaced. Until you replace it you will have to use the manual pull.

My 2008 Dodge Avenger's battery is dead, I have jumped it 4 to 5 times. The car keeps running after removing the jumper cables and the battery charges up enough to restart it a couple of hour later. It will not start if left for more than 8 hours. What could be the issue?
These cars have become notorious for high battery drain when parked. Coupled with the "exterior illumination" feature that turns on the headlights whenever you unlock the doors remotely, they discharge batteries at an alarming rate when just putted around town. This started happening to ours, and I removed the battery and opened it up (yes, you CAN do that, if you know what you're doing) and sampled the specific gravity. After a low rate recharge, ALL cells were actually a bit on the high side, typical for a cheap OEM battery, but indicating that there was a charge present. After three days of sitting and some cold weather, it wouldn't crank the engine again. The problem appears to be around town driving, along with the unneccesary use of headlights when unlocking, with the high current drain when parked thrown in. Also, the typical cheap Chrysler battery terminals need constant cleaning/burnishing. I highly recommend this and protective grease. Since doing this, I've had some "low charge" incidents, but the car always starts.
