Not able to reset oil
Try disconnecting the battery for five minutes to reset the computer. You might want to write down your radio station settings. Some radios retain memory and some don't.

Hello
What you should do is replace all fluids, oil, trans, coolant, rear or rears if it is 4wd and transfer case if 4wd.Air,gas,oil filters spark plugs and spark plug wires. You should be good to go after that provided there is no mechanical probs. good luck with your new truck. John

Gas cap light on my 2007 explorer xlt is on and
Check to see if the cap seal is good and the cap is tight. Next I have to ask if some one is refueling the vehicle while it is running like in cold weather to keep it warm. The system will see the gas cap off at that time and turn the lights on. If all that is good have the codes run to see what it is. Just about any parts house can do that for you and they might be able to reset the system. If the lights come back on then you have a problem that might have to go to a shop to be smoke checked for a leak.

Just bought a 2007 Ford
If it is running fine then you will be ok until you get it repaired if what you see is the Check Engine Light. If the Alternator light is on then the engine will stop running when the battery voltage is depleted and you may be stranded on the road. All depends on which light is on and how the engine is running.

I have a 2002 ford explorer eddie baur and it
OK....I know you say not the starter or the battery.....but to confirm, do the headlights dim when you try to start it....I am assuming not.....which means battery is ok.....then if you can gain access, are you able to LIGHTLY tap the starter with a hammer or something of that nature (why >?????)....in the starter motor there are 2 circuits...one is the throw out circuit which is used by the starter solenoid to throw out the ring gear towards and in contact with the flywheel, the second circuit turns the starter motor.....this second circuit is operated by 2 heavy duty contacts that over time can wear and pit, like any electrical relay contacts...by hitting it, you are loosening the black (carbpn) buildup to enusre a clean contact to start the car......this happens alot with stop-start driving......

I would not advise replace anything until proven bad. I would have the computer (ECM and BODY) scanned for codes. and scan data checked.

Is it ok to socktion the brake fluied and replace
You mean just out of the reservoir? Yes, I do it all the time, you can **** it out of the whole system, but you will have to bleed the brakes before going again. The car doesn't mind dirty brake fluid. Check it out.
