2008 Dodge Nitro blows cold air constantly but coolant fine.

If both the coolant hoses are hot then the coolant is passing through the heater core. You probably have an actuator or blend door that is not working. It may be restricted by commanding it to work. A scanner could help you find out the problem.

2008 Dodge Nitro. Why is water is coming out my exhaust please?

Did you check the head for leaks? If you tested the head then it can only be the gasket or lack of a good seal that can be causing the leak. There's no direct route to the exhaust for the coolant except when there is damage or something not installed correctly. Did you torque the cylinder head using the correct sequence? The correct pressure applied through following the sequence is what causes the gasket to seal properly. Uneven tightening or re-using old bolts when they are not supposed to be used can cause issues as well. Torque to yield head bolts are never to be re-used because they stretch when installing them. Was the surface spotlessly clean before attempting to install the gasket? You can only re-start the process and make sure everything is done correctly. Good luck.

Emergency brake light comes on while driving

The wire that connects to emergency brake is loose, and grounding out. It probably just needs to be tightened up.

2008 Dodge Nitro problem starting when engine warm.

Question edited for clarity and spelling 'worm' to 'warm'. Question moved to Model category. Larry gives the perfect answer as always.
  • ALL FUSES test good, and IMMO lamp reads good? no engine told at all and is and engine problem. and has gas or diesel engine, omg not the same at all warm not WORMs, rats eat wires but not worms, LoL. this failure is called in tech/engineers world as HOT SOAK FAILURE, most times spark dead. that stator always works right the cars starter motor cranks load and fast we all that robust cranking even does 300 rpm . so is not a start run problem it is a dead silent starter the only clue to me is the jumper wire, wow. The PCM controls 3 relays ASD relay and Starter and fuel pump relays. so if really did hot wire real starter relay them means the PNRDL is bad. got automatic transmission.???? got what engine. \USA car, sorry cant guess cars, drivelines ever. do you have the security system OEM on this car and the IP cluster lamp same name is NOT HAPPY as the users manual tell you. got both keys to Ignition car new provide or lost one if both try them both? guess #2 automatic trans does the starter motor spin in P and N both must work and P fails long before P so we try both . the starter relays is controlled by 1 computers, not just one and the PRNDL switch. I have the schematic here. PRNDL shows what gear it is , wrong selection is made the PRNLD tells first the PCM, and if PCM is happy the PCM click (energizes) the Starter relay the MTIP module contains the relay and can fail too. if the IMMO fails , it may not crank. or can cuts spark. if the starter does work the ASD can cut fuel if the PCM sees any kinds kinds of bad spark. spark coils dead, CMP dead CKP dead to prevent fires. it cuts fuel dead. so does IMMO./ if you scan the PCM it tells you why it cuts those relays. if you had done that.
  • Larry Ng Sep 02, 2022 learn to check all fuse first then scan it and if the starter motor fails say it will not crank or the starter motor is silent.

How do i change out the flex plate in 08 dodge nitro slt 3.7?

I am not familiar with the model but changing a flexplate is neither quick or easy as either the transmission or the engine must be removed and with some vehicles the power unit must be completely removed and separated on the bench.

Where is the oil filter on a 2007 dodge nitro v6

You can access the oil filter easily from underneath next to the front, driver-side wheel at the front of the engine. There is clear access to the filter there.

2008 Dodge Nitro - Heater blows but not hot air,

There is casting sand in it (the heater core) and its stopped up. I just fixed an 08 nitro for nothing. Remove the heater core hose closest to the motor at the firewall. Cut off a piece of garden hose about 4 foot long and slip it over the core pipe, so you can flush it out. Now remove the other hose but leave the hose attached to the core. You will be unhooking it downstream on another pipe by the exhaust. Now get an empty milk just to catch the antifreeze and sand. Use compressed air to blow the antifreeze out. I used a 10 gallon air tank with a blow nozzle(rubber tip). Get some hot water from the sink and fill it up through the garden hose and repeat the blowing out. Reverse hoses every other time you blow it out. You will see sand in your milk jug at the bottom. It only takes a teaspoon of sand to stop it up. When you stop getting sand your done but dont forget to top the heater core back up with antifreeze. Your done for free. Chrysler wanted $1200 to fix my daughters nitro and I did it for nothing. Works like new again. Jeep is the worst about casting sand left over from the block molding process and Nitro is just another Jeep. Also, you dont need to go crazy with the air. Just hold it in the hose with a fairly firm grip and gently give it a little air till you get the feel of it. Anyone can do this job and on the hose clamps I used a pair of short channel lock pliars and be gentle while you twist the hoses off. Take your time. I spent 1 1/2 hours doing this and its new again. Have a great day friend.
