2008 Mazda Mx 5 Miata - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Mazda 2008 mx5: I am getting engine fumes coming into the cabin via the cabin air intake.
There are a couple of things to consider...
First the cabin air intake is generally in a tray that once the engine compartment hood or bonnet is closed should be almost completely isolated from the engine compartment due to the rubber sealing strip and other rubber components. Perhaps some of these are missing or in poor condition. If heater intake water drains are fitted they should be self closing...
In good condition normal smells or fumes should not get past those seals.
The other consideration is where are the fumes coming from? Unless the engine has an exhaust or oil leak or a breather problem the amount of fumes generated to leak into the cabin, even if the sealing isn't in good order, should be minimal.
2006 NC MX5 Bose 6 stacker replacement/upgrade
Companies like Scosche and Metra make inexpensive dash kits for the Miata that will allow you to use a standard DIN head unit of any kind. They also often make special adapters to allow a standard aftermarket head unit to plug into the special Bose wiring.
My heater blows cold air sometimes
it's an electricity issue make sure that the Fuse is not out of its place or burned or maybe the wire is not connected well to the heater.
WHERE ISTHE LOCATION OF THE OIL PAN ON A 2008
Since most all engines depend on gravity to return the circulating oil to the pan, it is the lowest part on the engine.
It may look different from car to car but it will always be at the bottom.
Some are formed sheet steel, others cast aluminum with some shallow fins to help cool the oil. You do not need to remove the pan for an oil change.
Look for a fairly large hexagonal bolt or a larger 'Allen' type screw with a hexagonal hole for a wrench on this part.
You should have the engine warm before changing the oil since it will drain better with the oil somewhat thinner.
You will need a larger basin of some kind with a capacity of ~2 gallons (~ 8L) to catch the oil.
Please don't let it drain onto the ground, the stuff sticks around for a generation or two.
Let it drain until it produces nothing more than slow drops.
BTW, you should definitely change the oil filter too; this normally sticks out the side of the lower section of the engine and is a cylindrical can that may be way too tight to remove by hand.
Once you locate it, you should buy a filter wrench for removal.
This should not be used for the installation of the new one!
The new one should have a film of the new oil applied to the rubber seal and then only screwed on 'hand-tight.'
Can't find the adjustment knob for the headlights on a 2008 Mazda
The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly,
behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator
support.
You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam
(separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and
lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal
adjustment screws as well
Park
your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height
from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams
and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same
bulb, only do it for the lows)
If the headlights read VOR, then
aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall.
If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.
How to remove a convertable roof from a mazda mx5
With the top up, remove the carpet and panels on the back shelf and at the base of the top. You should see three metal bars running around the base of the top. There are thirteen 10mm nuts that hold these bars on. Remove these (when reapplying, they should be torqued to 70-95 INCH pounds and there is a specific sequence, search the internet for the diagram - I think it was a like via Moss Motors Miata. That's about all I can tell you.

New battery now radio, doesn't work
If you connected your battery incorrectly (positive to negative) then radios tuner probably burned out.On some models there is a little fuse before the radio unit which suppose to protect the instrument from such problems. If you are lucky then this fuse needs replacing,if not radio needs few new parts or replacement.
