We purchased an 07 Suzuki XL-7 today but there were no keyless entry remotes. We purchased one but don't know how to program it. Can anyone tells us how.
I bought a remote the other day and got these instructions with it. They worked!
1. Make sure vehicle is in Park
2. Press Vehicle Information button (has the icon of a car and an 'i')until 'PRESS *check mark* TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY' displays.
3. Press set/reset button. The message 'REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE' will display.
4. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter at the same time for about 15 seconds. A beep will sound indicating that the transmitter is matched.
5. To match additional transmitters at this time, repeat Step 3. Each vehicle can have a maximum of four transmitters matched to it.
6. To exit the program mode, you must cycle the key to LOCK.

I bought a pre-owned 2007 Suzuki XL-7 with the DVD player. No remote came with the car. I tried programing a universal remote with no luck. Is there a universal remote that will work or will I have to order it from Suzuki?
Had the same problem. My wife went to a car audio place and bought the wireless headphones, I think they were cheaper. And I just bought a universal remote from Radio Shack, its a Radio Shack brand little gray remote. It was 9.99. You have to use the "search for codes" option in the instructions. I can turn the tv on, off, stop, play, skip, all that stuff.

where is the battery located in the 2007 XL-7
It's under the hood, right next to the window washer reservoir. To get to it you need to slide the thing on top about an inch towards the steering wheel to release it and get it out of the way. Now, if you look down between the battery cover and the fuse box you'll see two long tabs pointing up towards you. Sqeeze them both and pull up and that'll release the battery cover. When reinstalling, be sure to insert the two lugs into their repective holes on the headlight side of the battery cover.

The Traction control/abs light has come on in the dashboard of my 2007Suzuki XL7 ,this is the second time this has happened .The last time it was under warranty and had the dealer fix it.The said it was a sensor but I can't find any info on it .I am retired from the auto repair business and prefer to fix it myself .Please advise .
Try disconnecting the battery cable first, it might reset.

The check engine light came on in my Suzuki XL7 (2007) about 2 wks ago. Off and on as I am driving, an error will come up & say to tighten gas lid (I bought a new gas cap fr Autozone w a lock on it & have checked it several times & it's not loose?) When they hooked their machine to it, it said EVAC leak (large) and they checked the hoses & said they were fine. Any ideas what it might be?
On top of that I have a constant rattling sound..when I start up the car it seems kinda rough & briefly jumpy (idk how to describe this), also when I make turns there is a knocking sound. I have an appointment to take it in to Suzuki tommorow, but I wanted to be able to be a little specific with them if at all possible...help!
I had a similar problem with a 2008 model. It was the wiring directly under the gas tank under the vehicle. It was causing multiple lights to come on at different times. Had it not been for my looking myself we would not have found it. The dealer repaired it by wrapping it in electrical tape!! That lasted a few days. They re-did it and it lasted a few months. Now it has happened again. The first dealer said "animals" must have chewed the wires. I contacted a different suzuki service dealer this time, only giving them the basics of the problem, only to have him tell me that they have problems with "animals" chewing the wires on these vehicles--almost as if he had been coached. Be very careful. The wire that control the fuel guage is in the bundle. If it breaks the vehicle will not start.

I need to change my battery in my 2007 XL7 Suzuki but can not find the battery.
It is well hidden inside of a protective box under the hood. Here is a diagram and instructions -- http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Joecamel90/2010-05-27_002716_bat.pdf

Sender unit circuit has been tested up to a meter from dash which is all fine, but gauge does not work still
Then I would say the gauge on the dash is faulty.
