I'd check out the battery's charge status, the battery terminal connections, and then the alternator. You can have both tested for free at any Autozone. I doubt it's your key causing the problem.

You probably have something draining the battery, such as a glove box or trunk light that is not turning off, or something else that is drawing current. To test for a current draw, you can install a test light or current meter in series with the positive battery cable then remove fuses one at a time to see which circuit causes the current draw to decrease noticeably.

Most automatics have a lock on the transmission selector.
When the vehicle is in P (Park) you are not able to select drive or a gear unless you depress the brake pedal.
My Audi Q7 ha a solenoid and you hear it click when I put my foot on the brake.
This solenoid stops you from accidentally selecting a gear without the brake depressed.

Is it a single click when you depress the pedal.

Loosing a lot of oil is no good. if it has a very "strong " smell and is light in color it is coming from the gearbox. I suspect there is a problem whit the CV joints (the loud clicking noise when turning) and it has gone so bad in might cause the gearbox oil to start leaking. The shaking is also not a good sign. Expensive repairs unfortunately but need to be done immediately. Can loose a driveshaft causing more damage.

If the regulator has a vacuum line to the back of it ,check that the line is operational. A good fuel flow before the pump indicates that the pump is moving volume but when a restriction is added ( regulator ) it may be passing the fuel back past the gears in the pump. have a fuel pressure test done on the fuel manifold . If it is excessive then there is a problem in the regulator. However if it is low then the problem may be in the pump.

Black smoke means that it has gotten too much fuel from the intake. That is a sign that either the timing or valves are having issues. It could also be that the crank sensor is failing. The sensor controls the pulses to the ignition. There is also a cam sensor that might be having issues. It is curious that it is happening at idle. One of the causes could be heat.
