My key fob is not working. Is there a way to

There are quite a few reasons a key fob might stop working, I just wish I could tell you what they are :) I can tell you there are some tricks to getting a key fob to work again. 1) Change the battery I know you stated you tried this, but make sure you installed the battery correctly. Batteries don't last forever, you'll be surprised how often it's just a dead battery! Click here for a video on how to open a GM key fob, or search our YouTube channel on how to change a battery for your specific year, make, and model! 2) Wipe the board The board inside your remote can get a lot more filthy than you think! When the board is dirty it can prohibit the contact to the circuit board when you push down on the button. Simply wiping the circuit board off can make your key fob like new again! 3) The old car battery reset trick I know this sounds absurd, but it works sometimes and is worth trying. If you exhausted all of the options above, disconnect bot terminals on your car battery for 10 minutes. Then reconnect them and try your key fob. This has worked for many people and I have no idea why. If you do, please comment below to explain. 4)New fob! It might be time for a new key fob! No need to dread over the expensive costs of a new key fob, at Keyless Entry Remote Fob Inc., you can get a refurbished one for a very affordable price! You won't even be able to tell the difference. Just search your vehicle make, model, and year to find your key fob or give us a call at 402-671-5100.

I have a 2008 Infinity QX-56 and it shakes terribly when I apply the brakes when driving at highway speeds. It also feels like the suspension is bad when you go over a bump or hit a pot-hole.

Warped brake rotor usually cause high vibration at high speeds. But you can also feel it at lower speeds. But bad ball joints and tie rod end will cause vibration at high speeds. Ball joints will pop at pot holes, sometimes. Tie rods can be felt in the steering wheel at a stop. Move the wheel slightly to the left and right, you can feel/hear a tap as you turn it.

Can I have my QX56 battery replaced at Autozone, or is there a code that will have to be entered by a dealer?

This is what I found listed that needs to be checked after battery replacement. Not an autozone job for sure.

The engine is over heating

  • You have a relay box under the hood back by the firewall on the passenger side. What happens is that fan relay goes out and the fan won't come on. When your AC is running the compressor is running and this makes your engine run much hotter than without the AC running. The fan should be on when ever the AC is on by default.
  • So under the hood (diagram #2) is the relay panel. When you lift up the lid to the relay panel there is a diagram of all the relays and fusible links inside there. Find the relay for the fans and this should fix your problem.

The steering wheel is locked

This is usually because of serious proload. Happens easily, with power assist....you shut down, now too hard to release.

So, you get the key ready and apply normal pressure to turn key.... then ARM STRONG the steering wheel, one way and the other. Somewhere in there, the key system should release.

Where is the fuel pump

The fuel pump is located behind the driver seat on the 2nd row under that seat. You have to cut a piece of the carpet out to get to it. Why I have no idea why Nissan built a vehicle where you have to cut the rug out to get to a part that will need to be replaced one day.

I changed the battery on my QX56. The car is turning over but won't start. What should I do?

Was the car starting before you changed the battery..? Check your battery leads particularly the black earth where it attaches to the engine block/bodywork. There's many causes of non-starting, and no one on Fixya would be able to give you a definite answer. Non starting can be caused by electrical sensor failures. The best - and cheapest - option is to ask a mobile mechanic to do a diagnostic check for you and identify the problem. Non starting can also be caused by a faulty fuel pump. My Car Keeps Cutting Out

When parked and key removed the dashboard lights and gauges will come on. They will stay on for several seconds and then turn off. They will do this for hours until the battery is dead.

This is beyond the scope that can be answered online. You need a auto electric repairman.
