2005 aviator won't stay running.
Yes, the MAP sensor tells the computer intake manifold pressure, so it can compute how much gas to make the air-fuel ratio right. If the sensor is a little pricey, as they usually are at dealerships, I think there is a testing procedure to determine if the sensor is bad, or a problem in the circuit to it. Your mechanic should know the procedure.
Battery was tested good,
Check for a good/clean connection on your battery terminals. If they have crud on them, disconnect the terminals & clean everything off with a wire brush & if possible, you can use some baking soda or even a Coke to help get the crud off. Rinse everything off & let it dry a bit (check the water level in the battery too - if the cells dry out, that'll kill it). Hook the connections back up good & tight. Then try to start the car - if that's not it. Get a jump, then go to Auto Zone, O'Reilley's, etc and get the battery & the starter checked. I'm betting it's either a poor connection, bad battery or your starter is going out. Start with your connections - sometimes it's just a bad battery cable/terminal & that's an easy fix.
Also think about getting the alternator checked (Autozone, O'reilly's or even Pep Boys can do that for free). If the alternator is out or going out, it's not charging your battery - that means everything electrical in your car is now trying to run directly off the battery & draining it (it doesn't take long - especially if the lights or A/C is on). If those check out ok, take it into a mechanic & have them run a diagnostic - you may have a relay out. Good Luck.

Hello
Your information is incorrect, the lock cylinder will not cause this, the reasons for the condition are the park interlock solenoid is sticking and the pin that locks out park is not being pulled back, the next is a problem in the brake light circuit, the park lock out solenoid gets its power from the brake light circuit. You can over ride any Ford lockout system by turning the key to just short of the ON position and jiggling the shifter to release it from park. My experience? 20 years as a Ford dealer technican.
