1996 Grand Am 2.4l - Mech just changed brakes/rotors. Tons of play in steering. Perfect before?

If its a reputable shop, go back and express your concern, ask for the manager for assistance. Have it towed if necessary, wheels may have been left loose.

96 Grand Am 2.4l A/C not equipped - Lots of cool air through vent. Almost no air to defrost. Blows hard to floor (great temp mix). Every vent setting? Mech just replaced heater core? What? Fine before

Looks like your mechanic messed up. If he has any integrity then he should take care of you. If not and you want to try and tackle it yourself then you have to ask yourself this: do I want to pull the dash out? Because that is what that will entail. Sounds like he may have messed up the ducting somehow. Unless the blend doors and directional doors are electric actuator operated in which case those actuators need to be replaced

Water leak at waterpump

Since you are able to determine that the leak is from the water pump, I assume your Grand Am has a 3.1L V6 and not a 4-cylinder engine. Water leakage at the pump is indicative of a defective pump bearing. There is a "weep hole" built in to allow for this leakage when the pump bearing begins to wear out. Replacement is the only repair.

Engine missfire on 96 grand am with a 2.4.

You need a tuneup. Fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button. If a basic tuneup don't help, I would try ignition module.

How to replace 1996 pontiac grand am motor mount

On 96 Grand Am 2.4L you have to remove the motor mount first to get the top 2 transaxle bolts on the mount bracket removed. The bracket and trans mount are removed as one unit after all 8 bolts are removed. You will need a 3 foot bry bar to move the engine over to the side as far as possible to make room for the 2 top bolts to be removed.
