My 96 Pontiac Grand Am won't turn over at all

Click on the link for starter motor. Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good, not just at the battery, the other end also. At the starter motor, two voltage circuit, One comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other goes hot with key in the crank position. Use a test lite and check voltage on both. The starter motor grounds through the engine block. Like I said, use a test lite to check. Any testing at the starter motor, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set.
If you think it is a starter issue, you can remove the starter, lay it on the ground, use jumper cables properly from charged battery to starter motor, at the least, it should kick out the drive gear and spin.
If you have to get under vehicle for testing starter or removing, there are safety issues. Safety is your responsibility.

My car wont start. I'm getting fire an gas. If I
Is the security light lit on the instrument cluster ? Injectors firing ? Spray carburetor cleaner through the throttle plate an see if starts then . If it starts an runs for a second it's not getting any fuel . How do you know it's getting gas ? Did you hook up a fuel pressure gauge ? Hook up a scanner an check an check data parameters ?

96 Grand Am, with drum brakes,o I need to use dual angle shims.
yes it is necessary
yes you will need a rear end alignment
professional shops do that alignment before a front end alignment as it affects the front alignment results
no -the part will be available from the professional shop doing the wheel alignment as they should have a selection so that they can get the adjustment correct
so now that the bearing has been replaced, go to a professional wheel aligning shop, show them the bit and ask them to do a full alignment

Grand Am 4 cyl. Car - Fan does not turn on
there is no computer to turn the fan on. it works on a thermal switch. so you have a relay to the fan. when the temp sensor gets hot it connects the circuit to the relay and then the fan is on. vary simple. and it works when the car is still hot but the key has been turned off till the switch cools off or some have a timer so it does not run for ever. so good guess is the temp sensor for the fan could be bad if the fan is working.

Power door locks not working
hi, as a retired auto elec.tech and installer, its been my experience that one of the door switches are bad. gm uses two types of systems. a 3 wire, and five wire. if you can access the back of the switch and see how many wires are there, and if its five, the voltage uses both switches to make the motors operrate. if there is three wires you would have to check the voltage on the orange wire at the switch. if its there, you you may have a wire or relay. hope that helps.
