Do i have to reset the computer after oil change on my bmw 2006 325i
You don't "have to" reset the status but it does help to keep track of oil life.Turn the car on. Wait about a minute for the computer to get to normal.press and hold the travel mile reset button. HOld it untill an ! in a triangle appears. then your maintanance info will pop up. select the item to reset. and tap the side button on the wand atached to the stearing wheel. this button is what you use to browse through your computer. press the button once it will say "reset" press and hold it the second time and it will say reset, hold for 5 seconds or so and it will show a check mark next to "reset" confirming it has reset.

My 2003 325i bmw will
- BMW has had problems with voltage causing fuses to blow in relation to the door lock fuses in the fuse panel in the glove box. Specifically 56 for the drivers door only and 57 if all doors are effected but check 2,19 and 63 as well all located in the fuse box in the glove box. I recommend a look at those first as replacing them can fix the problem. Please note that AFTER you replace the fuses you MUST unhook the battery for two minutes to reset things. Just replacing the fuses will not work. Please see the diagram below.
- If the problem persists or the fuses look good then i suggest getting an actuator for the door locks. BMW had a technical service bulletin out about this as well.
- If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
- Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.
Regards,
Tony

Turn off engine light
not hard but does not fix the problem so if cleared it will return.best to go to auto zone or advance auto parts they pull codes for people for free, now armed with the code you are closer to getting the right info for the fix.good luck.

I have a 2003 BMW Ci. I can drive the car all day
Check
the codes, you should find that you need to replace the crankshaft
position sensor and/or the camshaft position sensor. You can take it to
most auto parts stores and they will put it on a meter and run the code
test for you. If you need more help, please do not hesitate to ask.

How do get rid of the EML light
You can get it read for free by Autozone or Pepboys, depending on what code it gives you can decide if it is worth it to take it to a dealership and have the sensor replaced (which is the usual cause). Or they can clear the code and get rid of the annoying light for free.
