I replaced the transfer case fluid and tried to reset the Service 4wheel drive warning light, the same process of resetting the oil life. Somehow ,Im still getting the Service 4wheel drive light appearing on my console.
Is there any different way to reset the Service 4wheel drive light? Can I reset the warning light by disconnecting the negative cable on my battery?
Please advice or any info you can forward will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I have a 2005 Tahoe that recently had a similar problem. To resolve, I did the following.
This will cycle the fluid within your transfer case, and hopefully clean out the sensor. I did this, and my Service 4WD light went away after one day of normal driving. Hope this helps. Note: When I went into 4L the first go around, it had a hard time shifting due to non use. I changed between 4H and 4L a few times until it got smoother.

cigarette lighter quit working - is there a fuse that I can check.
I suggtes check the position CIG LTR for Cigarette Lighter. The underhood fuse block in the engine compartment on the driver's side of the vehicle near the battery. Lift the cover for access to the fuse/relay block.
To remove fuses, hold the end of the fuse between your thumb and index finger and pull straight out.
Also, in this link could donwnload the Owner's Manual for the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Hope this helps to solve it (remember to rate and commene this answer).

my 2005 chevy tahoe AC is blowing hot air. What is the problem?
Try unhooking one of the battery cables and leave it off for at least 20 minutes. When you hook it back up the computers should re-boot. That has solved problems for me with heater, interior lites, power windows, AC, day time running lites, power mirrors, fast idle, rough or slow shifting, CD player, and wipers on GM autos and S-10 PU and Dodge trucks. None of the switches are connected to the device they control anymore. The switch tells the computer to open the window and the computer sends a signal to the window motor. When the computer gets confused strange things will happen or not happen. Things like one headlight stays off etc. I actually had to do it twice on my Bonneville because the first time the AC blower would only work in low and medium. After the second re-boot, everything was fine. Of course you may have to re-set your radio stations.
If that does not work, open the hood and see if the compressor clutch is engaging. If not jiggle the wire to it and check the fuse for the AC. If the clutch is turning and/or the fuse is good then you need to take it to a mechanic that is licensed to do AC. If your freon is gone, he is prohibited by law to recharge it until he repairs it and can verify that there are no more leaks.

2005 Tahoe will not start consistently. Always turns over
There are several things that few people know about starting cars in cold weather. 1. Check your battery to make sure it is not rusted, leaking, and has a charge 2. Jump start your battery with another car, even if you believe the battery is good, this often times will still start your car. 3. If your engine is cold, and you have an older car, ensure to get your fuel lines to the engine flushed or have fuel injection service performed 4. The engine tends to warp the same way wood does during the extreme cold, do not be afraid to continue trying to warm up the engine by constant cranks with it is cold out. Your not going to hurt the car, the worse that could happen is too much fuel will enter the carborator and cause flooding in the system to occur. Wait 20 minutes if this happens and start to crank again 5. Bad spark plugs are a major reason why many cars take a very long time to start 6. Please have your spark plugs removed and exchanged for new ones. Over time, spark plugs become fowled and prevent the car from starting even thou you hear cranking!!!

where is the radio fuse located at on a 2005 chevy tahoe?
There is a diagram in your fuse box showing the exact fuse location. The fuse box is visible when you open the drivers side door. It is small triangle shaped plastic cover on the side of the dashboard next to the door frame, You cant see it with the door closed. The inside of the cover has a diagram that identifies which fuse is which.Check it.Thanks.Helpmech.

2005 Tahoe. How do I reset the check engine light?
the check engine light is indicating a problem with a control system. The resulting codes need to be fixed, then the light will be reset or go out by itself. If the problem resolves itself, or is intermittent, the light may go out by itself

lifter noise on a 4.8 liter chevy motor. do i need to pull the heads to replace lifters?
You usually don't need to pull the heads. I'm not exactly familiar with that engine but 50% of the time you can get a magnet and pull them out through the valve covers. But to make sure it's the lifters. Let it run until it's warm and remove the valve covers. You at that point should push with your finger on the push rod side of the tappet. If one of them ticks (you will be amazed you just did it with your finger) thats the bad one. However the whole cause of the problem with hydraulic lifter is oil pressure. The 0-ring seal between the oil pump screen and the oil pump may be cut, causing aeration of the oil. Thus lowering oil pressure causing the tick. It is normal for some LIGHT ticking to occur in the 4.8L and some noticeably louder ticking on startup. Good luck!

How Do I Reset oil Indicator 2005 Chevy Tahoe
Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the
CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes 2 times, the system is reset. However, if the
light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds, the system did not reset. Repeat the
procedure if the system does not reset.
This is for a 2001, I couldn't find info for a 2005, also said that a phone call to the dealer should answer it over the fone.
