What does it mean when the check gauges light comes on
The "Check Gauges" light means pretty much what it says. When this light comes on, it is because one of your gauges is not operating within the "NORMAL" range. You need to look at all of your gauges to see what is going on. It could be low fuel, low oil pressure, high temperature, low battery voltage, or whatever else your instrument cluster may be equipped with for gauges. Most people do not pay a lot of attention to their gauges because bad things rarely happen. This light is designed to get your attention and MAKE you look at your gauges because the computer system has determined that SOMETHING is not right with them.

My 1993 Dodge Caravan won't start. There's a clicking sound under the hood when I turn the key. I was told to reset the map sensor. Although, I don't know how. I put in a new starter yeste
Do not go back to any " mechanic" who told you to re-set the map sensor. Those are some baaad mechanics, giving you a schuck job. That is outrageous . If the clicking is coming from the relay and fuse center by the battery, you probably need a new $10 starter relay. If the clicking is coming from the starter solenoid on the new starter you put on, then it's not a bad part, but likely a loose connection at the battery, or at the starter where the big cable wire attaches. Are your battery cable connections corrosion-free and clean and tight? Did you happen to remove a ground wire and forgot to re-attach it? Check your battery ground, the negative cable where it attaches to the frame of the car, or to the engine. That should be clean and tight also. If the starter solenoid is clicking, it means that the starter is getting a signal from your ignition switch to turn the starter motor on, but the starter motor is not getting full battery power from the battery to start turning and thus cranking the engine. The starter motor gets its full battery power from the positive positive cable. One end is on the battery, and the other end is on the starter. If your battery is still charged up enough to start the car, all connections are tight, you have a new starter, and the solenoid just clicks, it may be a bad battery cable.I will stop here, and wait for your response . Hope you find it, just keep looking. There is no such thing as re-set the map sensor, period.

The a/c pully on the pump is shot, can I by pass the pump with a new belt (non a/c belt)?
There are a few companies which make a bracket with a pulley to eliminate the A/C. There are some concerns when you do this because the engine controls for the idle speed may still engage an increased RPM because the Defroster setting is made to activate the A/C compressor in the Fall to lube the internal compressor parts. If you eliminate the compressor, there will be no drag to slow the engine.Replacing the A/C clutch. Some can be changed on the car without losing the Freon. Some allow for just the bearing to be replaced without replacing the clutch also on the car.The bearing may be cheaper than the eliminator bracket and pulley. Some autoparts stores have Loaner tool programs with pulley tools. Just watch for Left-hand threaded components when you try to disassemble the Compressor. You might try to blog another site for the removal of the A/C clutch on this make and year vehicle. Fixya has some data, but year to year variations are not guaranteed. You need a real Chysler guy to help you on this.

Poor gas mileage on my 1993 dodge caravan
If you want fuel economy then dump this beast and buy a nice peugeot or citreon picasso diesel manual then you will get around 30 mpg around town and anything up to 70 mpg on a run ,try paying our fuel prices and this nice typical american petrol gas burner would be delegated to the classic car sunday drive out like my jag with its 4lt engine i can only afford to take it out once a month or so on a jaguar club run around ,other than that its my ford diesel manual escort with its 0 to 60 in 15 minutes but it only uses one tank of fuel a month.

The engine do not have power when going up hills when i massh the gas the engine stalls an pops and want go no faster then 15 to20 mph but when going down hills it runsmooth
A couple of issues may be happening. The first thing to check is When was the last time it was tuend up? If it was more than a year, take a look under the distributor cap. If it is highly carboned or corroded on the contacts- that could be your culprit. You might also have one or more defective fuel injectors. If high mileage- consider replacing these as they have a design lifespan of about 75000 miles. You might have a restricted exhaust. (muffler or catalytic converter or both if it has backfired loudly. It will also reveal itself if running with a significant load, this will reveal itself pretty quick as it will tend to do the same thing on a flat road. You may also have a weak thermostatic spring or stuck heat riser on one exhaust manifold if so equipped. You can also see in some extreme cases the engine vacuum decrease at idle as backpressure builds up.Assuming very high mileage- has the timing chain ever been replaced? If not, and you plan to keep the vehicle a long time, this might be something to investigate. At a minimum pull the rocker cover/valve cover off and check to see if valves are opening and closing late in relation to the timing mark for cylinder number one.

1993 caravan 3.3 heater gets a little warm not warm enough
Before replacing the heater core. make sure its the problem. Disconnect the hoses from the heater core and take a garden hose and try to run water thru it. if water flows thru it then its not the heater core. it could be the valve that stops the flow of coolant into the heater core.

I have gas smell in oil
Hello David, gas smell in your oil means it is getting there. It could be a number of reasons that cause this. For instance, if you have a vacuum leak the computer reads the engine running lean and injects more fuel into the
cylinders than needed and some of the unburned fuel mixes with the oil.(this will usually trigger the check engine light) - It could be worn piston rings. A compression check would be needed to determine. It could also be something simple like the PCV valve. If your Caravan is running ok, i would replace the PCV valve, change the oil & filter, then drive it & monitor your oil. I hope this helps.

We have a 1993 Dodge Caravan 2.5L L4. New
I have pasted your schematic below. With all new parts, the likely problem is with the wiring. If the car runs OK, the wire with the orange stripe is probably fine. So then you need to check the green wire to the computer for good continuity. Then check the black battery wire and fuse. Finally, check the ground wires. You might try connecting jumper cables directly from the battery to the alternator and turning the lights on to see if good connections make a difference. If they do, then take one off at a time to see which one is the problem (positive or negative).

No spark when trying to start it
If can be the problem with spark plugs itself or the problem with faulty ignition coils, the spark plugs get power from ignition coils.
Both the spark plugs and ignition coil voltage needs to be checked.
This is many a times caused by weak battery or faulty battery, or can be possible that battery to starter connection is loose or faulty starter itself.First the battery to start and both battery and starter voltage needs to be checked and confirmed. If that is checked ok, then other possibilities like faulty spark plugs, faulty fuel pump etc etc needs to be checked.

REAR WIPER ARM WILL NOT
this sounds like the wiper relay is not working for the park position or the park position on the wiper motor is not working.
