Right Side Brakes keep holding and not releasing
Hi Tommy, I'm glad to help! There are only 5 things that can cause brakes to hold: (1) Calipers are sticking. NOTE: There are several reasons calipers stick, there are internally frozen meaning you need new calipers. Here's how to check them release the nut that holds the hose to the caliper when the fluid bleed out and the calipers do not release pressure from the brakes then they are internally frozen, replace them. (2) Hose's are calapsed internally. You check the hoses in the same way, release the bolt and if the calipers DO Release pressure from the brakes then you know it's the hoses. (3) The actual metal lines going to the back of the Vehicle could be damaged. Example: One time one of the rear brakes would not release pressure and I found where the line goes acroos the rear axle something had hit the line and smashed it flat and so it was holding brake pressure on the wheel. (4) Let's not forget how much dirt and grime builds up on the brakes themselves. Example: I found one time where the LANDS where the brake shoes slide were so dirty that the brake pad itself was stuck and holding the brake pressure on that wheel. (5) The Master Cylinder, not very often, but I have seen the ports in the master cylinder clog-up and will not bleed back to release brake pressure. This is a few thing for you to check out that will help you find the problem yourself and save you money. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Tommy.
My dodge grand carivan is reading code p0601 just had trublle with belt comming off in bad rain storme
I am not familiar with the computer codes but I think you can get them from the Internet. The reason I'm responding is that I had trouble with my serpentine belt coming off when water splashed up. It happened 2 times and just wouldn't stay on. I took it into a shop near where it happened the second time - lucky me! - and they replaced the idler pulley saying it happens when it gets worn...over 4 years now and no problems with it to date. It cost me around $100. Good Luck!
Miss fire
Hi Richard, I'm glad to help! Richard, there's a lot of things that can cause one certain cylinder to misfire. I would first: "Replace the Spark Plug and Spark Plug Wire for number 4 and see if the misfire goes away. If it doesn't then you need to do a "Compression Test" for cylinder # 4 and compare it to another cylinder and if its more then 25 Psi difference then you need to do a "Cylinder Leak Down Test" to see where you are loosing the compression. If the compression is good and you have new plug and wire and it still misfires. Then you'll need to check and make sure you have good spark coming from the coil. If you have good spark coming from the coil. Then you'll need to check and make sure the # 4 Injector is firing. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Richard.
Location alternator fuse
Hi Aaron, I'm glad to help! The alternator fuse you are looking for also runs the auto-shut-down relay. NOTE: If your vehicle starts a runs then this fuse is good. If the vehicle will not start and runs then its FUSE 3 a 20 amp fuse inside the power distribution center under the hood. NOTE: Next you'll want to check the FUSEABLE LINK. This link attaches to the battery cable its a big GREEN colored wire. If you can grab the wire and it stratches while your pulling it, then it need to be replaced. CAUTION: If this wire is blown, then you need to replace the alternator as well for a dead short internally. If both of these or good, the only other option would be the Engine Controller. NOTE: Before replacing the Engine Controller, take the alternator off and have it check at the auto-parts-store. Most of the time its the alternator and not the engine controller. Hope this help and have an awesome day Aaron.
How can you fix internal soleniod in a transmission?
go after the P1768 code first. sounds like trans relay is not sending power to the solenoid pack. check fuse #2 {should be a yellow 20 amp fuse} in underhood fuse/relay box. if it's blown it will cause all these codes. the relay is marked EATX and is in the same box as fuse. should be in one of the corners of the box. hope this helps, let me know
