check that the clutch is properly disengaging when you go to change gears . If there is any drag at all on the input shaft then 1st gear will try to stay engaged because of the load on the gear teeth.

open boot if its the same as a c class there is a red button on the inside of the boot lining open boot remove the cover on the right hand side where the boot light is there is a red button type pin which will pull in and out just pull it backwards this will release the fuel flap

Someone else had a problem with a CLK, his battery was in the trunk but if the battery voltage is low he says the trunk won't unlock. I think you need experienced help? Call the Merc dealer to find out how to open bonnet and trunk.

yes their is a jump point under the bonnet for the positive and negative to any metal on the engine .

Sounds like the alternator is bad, you can take it to autozone and they will test it for free.

Usually when they stop working it is because they have burned out from running too much due to a leak. Sometimes the leak is on the pump itself at the older T line fitting on the side. If it is the new one with the updated line and it is still running, chances are there is a leak somewhere and that is why it continues to run. It could also be the relay. Usually when I replace the pump, I replace the relay as well. Try a new relay, if it continues after that, you will need to have it properly diagnosed by someone familiar with the airmatic system.

I'm no expert, but I have had a similar problem. A friend told me to turn the key in the ignition 7 times consecutively and it will reset. I tried it and it worked bad news was it was only for about a hundred miles or a few starts. In otherwords it is not a fixall.

First off, is this a factory stereo or an after market? If this is an after market did the problems start then? If so, who installed it, you, a friend or a professional. If this was before the stereo then I would look at what is called the body computer. This causes low voltage nightmares. The shifter needs to be inspected. The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and suddenly this occurred then its shifter assembly alignment issue.

For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.
