I HAVE A 1999 AUORA WITH THE NORTH STAR SYSTEM THE CAR JUST WENT DEAD ON THE FREE WAY

Check the battery and leads to/from the battery (Make sure to follow proper safety when working with or around the battery). Corrosion on the battery terminals may be a problem. remove wires attached to batter (leads) and use soda water *a little bit* to melt away corrosive gunk. reattach the leads to the battery.

Where is the thermostat housing

Hi, Follow the top rad hose to the top of the engine, You will need a set of wrenches to remove the metal cap. Before removing cap you will have to drain cooling liquid half of radiator. Also do not remove when hot.(burns). under that elbow cap there is the thermostat. Replace if not working properly. Good luck.

If a car used for a while and if gasoline quality is not so high eachtime you fill, residues can be collected at bottom of tank close to the hole which pump is sucking. filter must be clogged. if you manage to find it and remove it, you can understand by blowing from one side. be sure that no gasoline insde please.

Hello: You really need to pressure check the system to determine where the leak is. You can purchase a pressure pump at a parts store or take car to a repair facility. It could be one of several things causing the leak: any of the rubber hoses, radiator, water pump, head gasket, freeze plug(s), heater core. A pressure check would show the area of leakage.

Where are turn signal flashers on 1999 aurora

I usually work on Ford Brands. Some of your flashers should be in the fuse panel. Go to an Autozone, Advance, or Oreillys parts store and ask for a Flasher. If you know what you are looking for is a certain shape or size, it will make it easier to find. The autoparts stores may have pictures or a diagram for your location of the flasher. Be specific when you ask and let them know if it is for turning or a 4 way flasher.

If this only occurs when the engine is HOT, then the starter is the likely culprit. All starters will work when the engine is cold. A bad starter will require more energy to make it engage when it's hot.

If this problem occurs all the time, check the battery terminals for tightness and corrosion. There are very good products that spray on battery terminals to remove corrosion. If all connections are good and tight and the problem persists, there are a wide range of other possibilities.

  1. VATS - VATS is GM's Vehicle Anti Theft System. To test this, try using a different key to start the car. Over time, the resistance chip on your key will wear and at some point fail to start the car
  2. Starter - Although most bad starters will start when cold, on some occasions they will just cease to function.
  3. Bad Computer - the PCM controls most of the car's functions including starting the car. It's a less likely cause but still a possibility worth looking into if no other cause can be found.
