Keyless remote does not unlock but will lock 2006 VW Jetta 2.5 l

Hi. Is this an issue with both the remotes? If not then the remote is faulty. Also check to see if the red light on the remote flashes when you press the unlock button, if not then replace the remote.

2003 Jetta TDI vibrates above 35 speed

With 180k I would change the engine mounts. They are about the only thing that would dampen engine vibration and noise (assuming that the engine is running ok). There is likely one or all weak or broken. Normally when you have a vibration at speed then it is going to be driveline or wheel balance.

Epc light on no gas flow

There is no throttle body on a TDI, but continuing to crank you engine with no fuel pressure will absolutely fry your pump and/or injectors (An '03 could be either an ALH or a PD engine, - different fuel injection systems, but same disastrous result in either). Here's my .02: DO NOT let a VW dealer touch your TDI. They commonly throw parts at it until the problem either goes away or they throw up their hands and say "I dunno". Either way, people routinely waste a boatload of time and money with no relief when taking their TDI to a VW dealer. Go to TDIClub.com and look for a trusted TDI Guru near you (there's a list by state) and have one of these guys look at it. They're very helpful and more knowledgeable than 95% of VW dealers. Good luck.

THE 5 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

At the bottom of the automatic gearbox (tiptronic) you will find one threaded plug on below surface, (follow red arrow in the picture below). This is for emptying.

The oil level threaded plug is placed on the car front lateral automatic gearbox surface, (follow yellow arrow in the picture below).

Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) checking:
1. Requirements for check:
1.1. Vehicle standing on level surface.
1.2. Transmission must not be in fail-safe mode.
1.3. Shift lever in "P" position, parking brake applied.
1.4. Engine idling.
1.5. Air Conditioner and heater OFF.
1.6. ATF temperature must not exceed 104 Fahrenheit degree (40 Celsius degree) at start of test.
1.7. Automatic gearbox oil capacity: 2,5 liter. Only ATF with VW designation may be used. Do not use any lubricant additives.
1.8. Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF - part number: VW G 052 990 A2
1.9. An ATF level check when transmission oil temperature is too low results in overfilling, when too high results in underfilling.
2. CAUTION: Too much or too little ATF will affect the operation of the transmission. The ATF level must be checked at regular intervals.

2003 VW jetta speedometer stopped working and the

The speed sensor that is under the trans. mount on the driver side sends the shift points to the computer telling it at what point to shift. The sensor that actually controls your speedometer is in the back near the firewall. It is tall and should have a silver heat shield over it. However, the problem that you have described sounds more like an electrical short or a wire grounding out somewhere. I would check for wires getting pinched under the steering column in the dash since things quit working when you are turning. Also check the wiring behind the instrument cluster. Elecrical problems can sometimes be complex and hard to find but with some due diligence they can be solved. Hope this helps.

The radiator fan on my 2003 VW Jetta GLS won't turn off for a long time after the key is turned off, even if the car engine is cold. Is the sensor switch a possible cause? If yes where is it located

Coolant temperature sensor. Located on drivers side of the cylinder head, facing the fire wall, can be a little hard to see. Follow the upper rad hose to the plastic housing, the temp sensor is on the back of this housing. It should be green, if it is black it is definitely the problem. Not to hard to change, just hard to get your hands back there, take off the air cleaner hose to get easier access
