White smoke suggests you are getting water into the engine and this usually signifies a bad/failing head gasket. It can also be accompanied by overheating (check your gauge if you have one or engine light if it through a CEL code from the ODBII system). If you have water in your motor you may also have water in your oil. If the oil looks like a "rust" color then this is a good indicator. Also you may have an exhaust smell in the coolant overflow (oil and exhaust may be getting in the coolant). This is a major repair and will require significant expense if this is what is causing the misfires that are inherent when a failed head gasket starts leaking. Do not continue to drive the car if if overheats or any of the other indicators are present.

There is small chance you problem is with the slave cylinder, or the clutch master cylinder.
Check the brake fluid under the hood in the clutch master cylinder. If it is gone, or low, you may be leaking brake fluid either from the slave cylinder on the transmission, or the fluid could be bypassing the rubber seals inside the master cylinder.
I hope this is what is wrong, as it is much less expensive than having the transmission repaired.
God bless your efforts.

The EPC ( Electronic Power Control) light comes on because there is an problem with the engine. I would take it to your local dealer or part store and have them hook a scan tool up to it and read the codes. This will give you a code or codes that identify what is wrong with your engine. The part store does not charge for this service, the dealer does. If you have a mechanic that you trust, I would take it to them. Hope this helps.
