Most current automatic transmissions will be put into a "limp" mode if the electronics detect a fault in the transmission. That is, the transmission will go into one gear (usually second or third depending on how many speed ranges the transmission has) and allow you to drive it slowly to a service department or transmission shop. The intent is to prevent further damage by continuing to drive with the problem. It's possible the problem is relatively minor and inexpensive to repair, but continuing to drive it will almost certainly cause more damage (and be more expensive) to repair.

If you can rap the fuel tank on the bottom and the car starts, it's almost a guarantee that it's your fuel pump. You have to get it replaced. Your luck at the little rapping trick runs out after awhile.

I don't use synthetic oil unless the owners manual requires it. Just my opinion, not trying to argue. I've been changing my own oil and filter ever since my first car, now I'm 70. Check for proper oil pressure and oil fill level.

MAF is ALWAYS in the air duct between the air filter and throttle body. Remove the clamps. Replace MAF. Reinstall air duct and clamps

Have someone open the gas tank door and listen for a zooming sound as you turn the key to the on position (NOT CRANKING POSITION), If no sound, check the fuel pump fuse relays in the fuse box in the vehicle and under the hood. Also check the connections at the gas tank and the ground strap at the gas tank.

Sounds like a fuel pump..I believe it is located in the gas tank,,,not hard to replace if you have good mechanical skills and some time!

When you say charging,do you mean amp reading or volt reading?Amps should rise when first started then drop.Volts should stay close to constant.The small wire going to the alternator to power the regulator in the alternator is just switched power.If the volts fall under 14 after ten minutes you may need to try a replacement alternator.

It's on the return fuel line at the end of the fuel rail. My info says, you have to remove upper intake manifold to get at it. If you have new fuel pressure regulator, you know what it looks like, correct? I couldn't find a good picture. You can look at an online partsbook for that component, rockauto.com usually has a picture. Make sure no fuel pressure on system before you take anything loose.
