http://www.custombilletstore.com/product_p/1028.htm I know this is late but I had the same problem. The release wouldn't work either. I had to remove the shifter and take the cover off. A spring broke off the pink lever in the front of the shifter. The shifter would move side to side but couldn't be pulled back. The above link sells a replacement part that might work. Thanks to petevpi.

Hi, If you have truble code check/service engine soon light on,then go to your local Autozone part store for a free scan. If not,i'm going to start with haveing you check the cooling fan relay, this can be found in the power distribution box, this can be found in the engine compartment.I would change places with another relay with the same number on it. If this takes care of it,buy a new relay and it was an easy fix. If not here's tests you will have to do as long as you have a digital volt meter.

Operation printpage_icon.gif

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is used to sense engine coolant temperature. The sensor protrudes into an engine water jacket.
The ECT sensor is a two-wire Negative Thermal Coefficient (NTC) sensor. Meaning, as engine coolant temperature increases, resistance (voltage) in the sensor decreases. As temperature decreases, resistance (voltage) in the sensor increases.
The PCM compares the ECT, Intake Air Temperature (IAT), and Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) under cold start conditions. Following a start to run delay time, the sensor values are compared. If the one sensor value is not within a specified range of the other two sensors, the value is determined to be irrational

2.7L, 3.5L & 5.7L Engines

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) harness connector.
  3. Turn the ignition on.
  4. With a scan tool, read the ECT sensor voltage.
  5. The sensor voltage should be approximately 5.0 volts (plus or minus .1 volt) with the connector disconnected.
  6. Turn the ignition off.
  7. Connect a jumper wire between the (K2) Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) signal circuit and the (K900) sensor ground circuit in the ECT harness connector.
  8. Turn the ignition on.
  9. With a scan tool, read the voltage.
  10. The sensor voltage should be approximately 0.0 volts (plus or minus .1 volt) with the jumper wire in place.
  11. If voltage is present as stated suspect faulty ECT sensor.

Hi,

The U0100 code means there is Loss in communication with the ECM/PCM,which might be as a result of one of the following reasons listed below.

1. You had flash downloads applied to your vehicle. Many erroneous DTC codes are generated during flashing and should be cleared after flashing 2. You disconnected/reconnected computers in the car with the power still applied 3. An interruption (break or short) in the CAN network caused communication errors.

a simple software update will help you resolve the issue.

Good luck,

This is not an error code. It pinpoints that other error codes might require your attention as it is an OCM (Occupant Classification-ECU) DTC present. The chances that the error is due to an uncalibrated seat. Get it read by a scanner, or take it to a dealer or car mechanic to reset.

George....

What year/make/model does your programing solution apply to? It certainly does NOT apply to the 2009 Charger in this post. There is no circuit on pin 1 of the DLC, pin 1 is empty, therefore jumping it to pin 4 (chassis ground) will do nothing.

as for the original question it would be nice to know if the charger is having problems with the key fob unlocking the doors or starting the car.

A dealer can program keys, so can a lot of independents, there are also Lock Smiths and Mobile Mechanics who can do the job.

Most programing on late model vehicles require specialized equipment and it is ALWAYS a good idea to scan for codes in all models to identify problems before attempting any programming.

Chrysler is particularly susceptible to failures in the SKIM and WIN models.

My advice is to seek out a qualified professional with the proper equipment and experience. This is not a DIY project
