2002 MB C320 gas cap problem
I had the exact same problem, went to the Mercedes dealer and they fixed it for free with a pair of pliers. They just pulled up the metal clips and turned them back into place.

Intermittent electrical fault. indicators fail
Sounds like there is a bad connection, (positive or negative) From battery, Check and clean all connections. If wires and connections are good check for loose wires or fuses at fuse block.

My battery went dead, so
Sounds like when the battery went dead, there was still a little power left in it, and when starting was attempted, it went completely dead. This causes the computer to automatically shut down to prevent damage to it. Starting it afterwards may require allowing it to run until it reaches operating temp (when temp gauge is in center), and then restarting one or two times. If this doesn't work, you will need a scan tool to reset pcm.

Got a 1997 Merc C200. No fuel pressure engine
1. The SAM module is only provided for the trailer tow socket. Therefore it does not have any influence to the fuel pump working.
2. Check the fuse no.# 1 - F1 (25A - white color) = Fuel pump, placed in the fuse box in luggage compartment. See picture below:
3. If the fuse no.# 1 is good, the most probable fault is a bad supply wire of the fuel pump.

Car occassionally ran really rough-rpm
Your problem was (most likely) the mass air-flow sensor. Try disconnecting the sensor, the car should run at default values. This will turn on your check engine light on again but it will indicate that the sensor should be replaced. You can clear the light with a scanner or disconnect the battery again.

When my C200 is cold
Hi,
Welcome to FixYa.
First thing you should do here is have the cars ECU (main computer) scanned for codes. This is always a good place to start and if error codes are stored will give a good pointer as to what may be causing the problem. These engines have several sensors that effect the performance of the engine on cold starts and if one of these is faulty the scan should pick this up.
If you are USA based Autozone will perform a scan of the vehicles ECU for free.
A bad coolant temp sensor is certainly a distinct possibility as this will cause the car to underfuel when cold and cause it to run rough until it warms up. Other possibilities are bad carbon build up in the engine which can be helped by the addition of a bottle of fuel injection/carbon cleaner to the fuel tank at next fill up. Simply add the mix to the fuel as per instructions on the additive and run the car as normal.
Finally a manifold vacuum leak is a possibility so check that all hoses and connections are secure.
Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

1997 e 320 STARTS BUT
Possible Throttle relearn required. If there was a gitch in the voltage this is common.
You could try leaving the ignition key in the KOEO II position for 10 minutes ( Key On Engine Off)
This should allow the throttle to relearn. If not you may need shop help. To find a shop see iATN Shop Finder.
Any shop listed there is committed to quality repairs.
Fuel pressure will remain for some time after engine off. To check fuel pump you need to relieve the fuel pressure when the engine is cool and then see if pressure builds up. This would confirm pump operation.
