1999 Mitsubishi Montero Questions & Answers
4m41 engine
run the fault codes
if the engine is too early for ECM controls , it indicates a governor problem in the fuel pump
in that case have a diesel specialist shop check it out
Replacing spark plugs
unless you have a specific issue with the plugs , don't waste your money changing them
the v6 engine has the rear plugs as platinum plugs because it is near impossible to change them and modern engines
( manufacturer design fault in the location of the engine and so they fitted special plugs before installing the engine )
plugs last the life of the engine
if you are doing a "tune up" that is a waste of money as the ECM tunes the engine 60 times a minute
all you have to do for a "tune up" is to have the fault codes read for sensor problems
Pajero turbo
mine is a shogun sport 4d56 built in 2002. it has a chip in the key which is basically built in because it is not a plip type key. so it cannot be opened.
these chips can be disturbed or damaged which will require a new key and then reprogramming with the correct equipment.

This could be result of the flasher not being fully seated in the socket. Remove, replace and test. If it persists, the flasher could bad and needes to be replaced.
HOW DO I GET RID OF VIBRATIONS ON A PAJERO IO WHEN STOPPING
If memory serves you will need to have the dealership (or darned good mechanic for a Mitsubishi) to electronically "reset" (reboot) your Modulator Interface (I don't know the Mitsubishi name for this part). In other words, you need a "car geek"? lol... Good luck!
